So fun fact: You can disrupt the entire photonics industry with just $160m by taking over Nippon Chemical Industry (NCI)
They're the leading supplier of red phosphorous to $AXTI, Sumitomo, JX, and others needed for InP substrates (indium + phosphorous)
Just found this pretty funny.
I thought $AXTI made everything vertically integrated but apparently they buy high purity red phosphorous from japan...
So you can bottleneck China as well.
Not recommending this as a long, there are better ones out there. Japan doesn't price hike either so don't get your hopes up.
Maybe 85% return back to 1X book. But it's not a 500% type gain like $AXTI.
This is just for education purposes.
