AT&T EXPANDS USE OF D-WAVE QUANTUM COMPUTING ACROSS NETWORK OPERATIONS
$T has signed an agreement with $QBTS to apply its annealing quantum technology to complex network optimization problems.
In early work, AT&T says the technology cut processing time for one network optimization workload from roughly one hour to under 15 seconds.
The initial focus is integrating D-Wave into AT&T’s agentic AI tools for outage detection and response, technician routing, network planning and traffic management. AT&T says those tools reduced customer downtime by 12 million hours in 2025.
AT&T is also evaluating D-Wave’s gate-model systems for quantum security and communications. Financial terms were not disclosed.
