Enterprise software firm Monday.com said Wednesday it plans to cut 20% of its workforce in the second half of ths year to “support a leaner, more focused operational model” as it continues to invest in AI.
The planned job cuts, which would affect around 600 people, is the latest in a series of reversals by the Israeli company on staffing. Last fall it had discussed expanding its workforce by 20% this year but it reduced that plan to mid-teens percentage growth in February and after a slight increase in headcount in the March quarter, it said in May it expected to keep its workforce “largely flat” this year.
In Wednesday’s announcement, made in a securities filing, Monday.com maintained its full year revenue growth outlook at 19% to 20% but slightly increased its projected operating profit margin. Shares of the company were down 2.7% on Wednesday.
Monday.com had planned to expand its workforce by 20% but it has gradually retreated from those plans over the past six months.
