Hyundai Motor, HD Hyundai Robotics, and Doosan Robotics showcased autonomous driving systems and industrial robots as FIX 2026 opened in Daegu, South Korea, on October 21, highlighting efforts to expand automation across manufacturing, logistics, and transportation.
The four-day Future Innovation Tech Expo, held at EXCO, brings together 588 companies across future mobility, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), information and communications technology (ICT), and startups. The exhibition features 1,820 booths, with overseas exhibitors accounting for 28% of participants, up from 17% in 2025, according to the Daegu city government.
The opening ceremony drew Daegu Mayor Kyung-ho Choo and senior executives from Hyundai Motor, HD Hyundai, Doosan Robotics, and GM Technical Center Korea (GMTCK). Attendees marked the opening by activating a ceremonial display modeled on a semiconductor before touring the exhibition.
Hyundai and Doosan demonstrate industrial robotics
Hyundai Motor displayed its Atria AI autonomous driving technology and Pleos vehicle software platform. Its exhibits included a Grandeur sedan equipped with Atria AI technology, while affiliate Hyundai Rotem presented a model of an unmanned firefighting robot designed to support emergency operations in hazardous environments.
HD Hyundai Robotics publicly displayed its newly developed dual-arm robot, designed to perform precision tasks in manufacturing environments. The company is developing the system for potential use in robot controller assembly, extending its portfolio beyond conventional industrial and collaborative robots.
The company also showcased its HDC series collaborative robots and automated welding technologies, including a system that generates welding paths by recognizing workpiece shapes without requiring conventional computer-aided design (CAD) programming.
Doosan Robotics featured Scan & Go, an autonomous robotic system combining a mobile platform, robotic arm, and three-dimensional vision. The system identifies complex surfaces and generates tool paths for inspection, sanding, and grinding operations on large structures such as aircraft fuselages and wind turbine blades.
Scan & Go previously received a CES 2026 Best of Innovation award in the AI category. The technology is intended to automate tasks that traditionally require extensive programming and manual preparation.
Hyundai Wia also demonstrated its H-Motion robotic system, which combines a mobile platform with dual robotic arms for material handling and assembly tasks.
Autonomous logistics and semiconductor design on display
Autonomous transportation was another focus of the exhibition. South Korea's RideFlux and Mars Auto presented self-driving freight technologies, while China's Neolix and South Korean company NT1 showcased autonomous delivery vehicles.
The demonstrations highlighted different approaches to automating logistics, ranging from unmanned delivery services to autonomous freight operations.
Beyond mobility and robotics, Daegu and Kyungpook National University organized a fabless semiconductor pavilion featuring Telechips, Asicland, Supergate, STLabs, and Warp Solution.
The pavilion presented chip design technologies and results from existing semiconductor development and verification programs, reflecting the city's efforts to build a regional semiconductor ecosystem linked to automotive electronics and other industrial applications.
FIX 2026 runs through October 24, with accompanying conferences on robotics, autonomous mobility, and industrial AI.
