Acer Chairman and CEO Jason Chen said Taiwan is not only a global hub for AI hardware manufacturing and technology, but also an important source of capital, as many firms issue bonds to raise funds. He said Acer has already issued bonds worth NT$20 billion (US$630.7 million), adding that "Taiwan's money" is not only benefiting the local market but is spreading around the world.

Asked about MediaTek's recent bond fundraising, which drew subscriptions from major international companies including Nvidia and Alphabet, Chen said he is pleased to see Taiwanese manufacturers and brands showing strong confidence. He added that the development shows Taiwan is not only an AI technology and manufacturing center, but also a key source of capital.
Chen said many companies are issuing bonds and raising funds to meet AI demand, including Acer, Asus, Gigabyte, Wistron, and Wiwynn. He said this is a natural result of scale expansion, with funding needs rising as businesses grow.
Despite strong demand for AI servers, competition is intense. Chen said Acer's edge lies in its Altos subsidiary, which focuses on server solutions and is one of the group's fastest-growing subsidiaries. He said AI is moving toward applications and local deployment, while AI models are getting smaller, which continues to expand demand for on-premises servers.
That business model differs from those of ODM vendors targeting the world's top five CSPs, where orders are concentrated, gross margins are lower and customer payment terms are longer. By contrast, Altos' business is relatively fragmented, has higher gross margins, and focuses on the commercial opportunities created by AI deployment. Chen said if everything moved to the cloud, there would be no such opportunity.
He said Acer currently has 16 listed subsidiaries, and most of them are posting double-digit revenue growth, with some rising more than 20% and exceeding their original targets. That, he said, gives Acer a "floor" even as memory prices rise, reducing the pressure on the group.
Chen said Acer's subsidiaries span a wide range of sectors, from healthcare and gaming to fashion, and most have overseas operations rather than focusing solely on Taiwan. Acer Medical's solutions have been adopted by medical institutions in 14 countries, Acer Gaming operates in four countries, and HSN, which focuses on repairs, has a presence in 6-7 countries. HSN has also recently expanded into the B2C market through acquisitions.
On Chao Chi Property Management Consulting, which has recently faced issues, Chen said a new chairman is already in place and Acer supports efforts to stabilize internal operations first. He said Acer has two responsibilities: answering to shareholders and avoiding disruption, and fulfilling its social responsibility by helping Chao Chi stabilize so as not to affect tenants and landlords. Acer holds a 17% stake and one board seat, and has no plan to increase its holdings.
