Acer Asia units post double-digit growth on strong AI orders

Acer's Asia operations posted double-digit revenue growth at three subsidiaries in the first half of 2026, led by Altos Computing, Acerpure, and Highpoint Service Network. Altos is seeing particularly strong demand for AI servers, prompting Acer's president of Pan-Asia Pacific operations Andrew Hou to say the unit will need to double its headcount to meet customer demand.
Acer has in recent years spun off promising subsidiaries to expand operations and create more room for group talent to develop. Acer chairman and CEO Jason Chen said subsidiary growth follows four stages: business ideation, scale-up, IPO, and further upgrades.
Hou said Altos, which is already listed as an emerging stock, is expected to file for an IPO in 2027. Benefiting from the rising adoption of AI and its shift from cloud to on-premises deployment, Altos posted revenue growth of 83.5% year-over-year in the first half of 2026 and EPS of NT$1.45, already surpassing its full-year 2025 performance.
Hou said Altos has won 27 projects so far and has another 150 in the pipeline, expressing strong confidence in the unit's growth outlook. He added that the company urgently needs more staff because AI server orders remain robust.
He said demand spans academic institutions, hospitals, and government agencies, all of which are looking to deploy small models and use AI through on-premises servers. He said that the market is huge, and that this brings enormous opportunities.
Highpoint, which handles product repair services, posted revenue growth of 21% year-over-year in the first half of 2026. Hou said the business could receive another boost from its recently established India subsidiary, which has begun contributing revenue.
He added that Highpoint also plans to expand its mobile phone repair business. The company recently acquired a 51% stake in Miifix Digital, a Malaysia-based mobile device repair and parts supplier, to broaden related operations.
Hou said the mobile repair ecosystem is complex, with many brands, products, and parts. Through Miifix, Highpoint can not only secure repair business but also sell mobile components to peers, while using the company as a gateway into markets such as Thailand and Indonesia.
Acerpure, Acer's consumer appliances brand, posted revenue growth of 34.6% year-over-year in the first half of 2026. The brand recently launched air conditioner products and has entered markets including India, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand.
Acerpure set up a subsidiary in India in 2024, and Acer recently signed Bollywood star Akshay Kumar as brand ambassador, which is expected to further lift sales.
