France's artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem is putting agentic computing into production on Nvidia hardware and open models, according to an Nvidia blog post published on October 12, 2026, listing projects spanning satellites, public-sector software, banking, cosmetics research, and quantum computing.

The post, written by Nat Ives ahead of Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang's GTC Berlin keynote on October 21, says the country's ecosystem "has moved from ambition to application." It credits the AI Action Summit in February 2025 and the Choose France summits in 2025 and 2026 with anchoring "major compute commitments on French soil."
Servers and satellites
Bull is extending its European AI server production to Nvidia Vera Rubin Ultra NVL72 systems, planned for 2028, with trays produced in Europe and rack integration at its factory in Angers, which was inaugurated on October 2, according to the post.
In orbit, Altair-1, the first satellite in a US$1 billion, 50-satellite constellation with on-board autonomous capabilities, launched in October and has reached orbit. Integrated by Loft Orbital and built in Abu Dhabi by Orbitworks, a joint venture between Loft Orbital and Marlan Space, the satellite carries Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin edge modules running Mistral's models for real-time Earth observation and autonomous operations.
Open models for the public sector and banks
Nvidia said its Nemotron open models are in production at French organizations that require sovereign, trustworthy data. LINAGORA and Docaposte have secured the CANUT framework agreement, making Twake.ai, which is built on Nemotron, the sole referenced sovereign digital workplace for more than 2,500 French public organizations.
SBS is launching a sovereign platform, in collaboration with Nvidia, that lets banks deploy governed generative and agentic services within their own environments. Mistral introduced its Mistral Large 4 open model in private preview in the week before the post, and Fondation Inria, with Nvidia's support, is launching a working group on open-source advanced modeling and tool adoption, with findings due in spring 2027.
Companies report early results
Nvidia's post cites performance figures for several deployments. L'Oréal is moving cosmetic formulation discovery from bench chemistry to in-silico screening with the open-source Nvidia ALCHEMI Toolkit, now running on its own GPU cluster, and is targeting discovery up to 100 times faster.
Mirakl has onboarded more than 70 million products using fine-tuned and open models on Nvidia GPUs and inference software, cutting seller catalog onboarding to under two hours. Omi, which helps brands place accurate products into AI-generated marketing visuals, combines its 3D digital twins with open models optimized on Nvidia for three times faster inference.
In Côte-d'Or, ThinkDeep and Akila built a digital-twin agent powered by Nvidia Cosmos open world models, Nemotron and Omniverse libraries that manages nearly 5,800 kilometers of roads and buildings. It has cut total operating costs by 10%, with a target of 30% as deployment progresses. Port Sud de France runs goods processing and port security on ThinkDeep's DeepBrain platform.
Bouygues Telecom and Prisme.ai have launched AI Studio V2, which lets employees build their own agents in a controlled environment, while Paris-based robotics company Enchanted Tools is deploying social robots to support patients in healthcare settings, including pediatric cancer care.
Quantum computing links
In quantum computing, Alice & Bob has integrated the Nvidia NVQLink platform for its superconducting cat qubits, which the post says shows how GPUs can make quantum error correction more efficient. Quandela has used NVQLink to connect a DGX Spark system with its photonic qubits as it explores hybrid quantum-classical applications.
