LED makers Ennostar and Everlight both posted year-over-year, month-over-month, and quarter-over-quarter revenue growth in June and in the second quarter of 2026, as the industry entered its traditional shipment peak season. Ennostar's quarterly revenue reached about NT$6.324 billion (approx. US$197.1 million), up more than 20% quarter-over-quarter, with profits also set to benefit from a NT$1.173 billion gain on the earlier sale of its Miaoli Zhunan plant.
Ennostar's core operating loss narrowed significantly in the first quarter of 2026. In the second quarter, shipments of backlight, sensing, and special lighting products all rebounded, lifting June consolidated revenue to NT$2.134 billion, up 2.11% from May and 18.97% year-over-year. For the first half of 2026, consolidated revenue came to NT$11.569 billion, up 1.73% from the same period in 2025.
Ennostar's subsidiary has been selling 4 million common shares of GCS, and has disposed of 570,000 shares through July 3, with a cumulative transaction value of about NT$350 million.
Ennostar's push into the optical communications market has yet to make a significant contribution, but Ennostar and Saphlux recently announced a formal strategic partnership, deepening cooperation in AR microdisplays and optical communications.
In AR glasses, Saphlux's semi-polar GaN technology should help improve Micro LED luminous efficiency and color stability at very small sizes. Combined with Ennostar's full-chain vertical integration and mass-production capabilities, it could accelerate the commercialization of high-brightness, low-power, full-color AR microdisplays.
In optical communications, the partnership aims to enter the optical pathway for AI data-center scale-in/scale-up applications, addressing the power consumption and latency pain points of AI computing clusters and targeting key technologies in the AI optical communications era.
Chairman Paul Peng has said revenue from value-added applications now accounts for more than half, and despite global uncertainty and ongoing raw-material supply issues, the company expects relatively better results in the second half and remains cautiously optimistic.
Everlight reported June revenue of NT$1.831 billion, up 3.3% month-over-month and 10.58% year-over-year. Second quarter revenue reached NT$5.357 billion, up 6.29% quarter-over-quarter and 5.66% year-over-year. For the first half of 2026, revenue rose 2.98% year-over-year to NT$10.396 billion. Everlight expects gross margin and profitability to gradually recover in the second half, helped by process improvements and product-mix optimization, and is targeting full-year profit on par with 2025.
Everlight's board recently approved a Thai subsidiary's purchase of land for a new factory in Thailand for about THB827 million (approx. US$24.8 million) to support future plant construction and equipment installation and strengthen its Southeast Asia capacity layout.
Everlight's capex in 2026 is expected to be about NT$3 billion, with nearly NT$2 billion allocated to land and factory construction in Thailand and the rest for equipment expansion. Taiwan will focus on R&D and trial production, while the Suzhou site in China and the Thailand plant will handle mass production according to customer demand. The new Thailand plant is expected to start mass production in 2027 and tap more international automakers' supply chains.
