Xiaomi Auto maps 2027 Europe entry with German dealer network and four-country vehicle testing

Xiaomi Auto has formally begun laying the groundwork for its overseas expansion. Xiaomi Group partner and CEO William Lu said on September 4 that the automaker had signed agreements with eight major German dealership groups during IFA 2026 in Berlin, establishing an initial sales and service network ahead of its planned entry into Europe.
Lu said Xiaomi Auto vehicles designated for overseas markets will next undergo testing in Sweden, Germany, Spain and Italy. The program will cover seven test sites, including the Arjeplog winter testing centre in Sweden and Germany's Nürburgring, with a focus on high-speed validation and functional testing.
Xiaomi Auto will initially use Europe to test and validate vehicle performance across different road, climate and operating conditions, Lu said. The company also plans to build up its overseas operating capabilities gradually, extending its globalisation strategy beyond product preparation to local distribution and service infrastructure.
According to Jiemian News , Sina and National Business Daily , the first eight German dealership groups signed by Xiaomi include Ernst Dello, Autohaus Dinnebier and Emil Frey Germany. Cooperation with established local dealers is expected to help Xiaomi Auto build a network covering sales, after-sales support and maintenance ahead of its formal European launch.
Xiaomi Auto has already built significant delivery volume in China. Deliveries reached about 180,000 vehicles in the first half of 2026, including 80,856 units in the first quarter and 104,199 in the second. July deliveries remained above 30,000 units, bringing cumulative shipments from January through July to about 216,300 vehicles.
Xiaomi also introduced its first range-extended SUV line, SkyNomad, in late July, with a formal launch scheduled for September as the company broadens its vehicle portfolio.
Xiaomi Auto remains in the preparation stage for overseas expansion and has not yet begun formal sales in Europe. The company has said its automotive business will officially enter the European market in 2027, with Germany among the first target markets. The memoranda of understanding signed with eight German dealership groups during IFA mark an important step ahead of that launch.
For Xiaomi, Europe is not only its first overseas automotive market but also a test of whether the company can replicate abroad the smart EV product capabilities, supply-chain strengths and ecosystem model it has developed in China.
