  2. 2026-07-21 08:00 Asia/Shanghai市场反应stock_quote非一手

[07:30] Bloomberg.
[07:30] Well let's take a look at the market action of Co, Sherry when it comes to the Joe politics.
[07:30] Been seeing yet more strikes by the U on ir and oil prices remain elevated, although volatility has pulled off.
[07:30] The highs that we' have seen during the height of the conflict, we are seeing some parts of the market in terms of stocks coming.
[07:30] Presure overnight in the U futures are pointing to a bit of upside and we indeed saw in terms of chip stocks.
[07:30] The selling there did stem a little after of course, what we saw on Friday right where we did get those bear masks.😊
[07:30] Get indications out of the US tech stock selling off and this is all coming of course, at a time where you look at treasuries.
[07:30] The extent in which the inflationary impact on Joe politics or from Joe politics is feeding into this.
[07:31] Second order effects, as some of our colleagues have been highlighting. Yeah, we have actually seen.😊
[07:31] The Iran headlines helping with those inflationary pressures and higher US yields right, I mean not to mention, of course, we had that treasury the UK.
[07:31] Fiscal risk as well coming from their own government politics and spending, but it's really been about the inflation picture around the world.
[07:31] That's really taken the bond markets and also, of course, the currency markets by surprise.
[07:31] Right now we're seeing that the escalation continues, U.. forces are striking iranian targets, President trump vowing thattehran will pay.
[07:31] For killing three U.. soldiers and also we have another threat, a second shipping front the houthhi militants announced.
[07:31] An immediate maritime blockade of saudi arabia putting millions of barrels of crude moving through the red sea at risk and.
[07:32] This was supposed to be a workaround for saudi arabia to get their oil out to the market.
[07:32] Those conversations, I think, will be part of the agenda as these top diplomats from across Southeast.
[07:32] Asia gather in Manila for the ASEAN Forign ministers meeting we know how the Chinese Foreign minister Wang Yi Russia Sergei Lavrov.
[07:32] U. secretary of state macaio they're also expected to attend let's look at what's on the agenda with our next guest beck strtroing is.
[07:32] Director at the La Trope Center for global Security, good to have you we see the ASEAN meeting.
[07:32] As a sort of platform sometimes for the U and China to either underscore their commitment to.
[07:32] The region or cement their influence here, what is top of mind for you on what will be discussed by these foreign ministers?
[07:32] Yeah, this is a very interesting and important time to be holding the ASEAN Foreign ministers meeting.😊
[07:33] The way that you framed that, I mean, part of ASEA's regional role and part of the norms of ASEAan centrality is that it.😊
[07:33] It has this sort of convening power to bring together senior leaders to discuss these very.😊
[07:33] Significant geopolitical issues that are going on, and so I think front of mind for the week in Manila will be.😊
[07:33] Of course the regional issues, the South China Sea tensions that were just reported on earlier will be top of mind, of course.
[07:33] Last week that the Philippines celebrated the 10th anniversary of the South China Sea Arrbitral Tribunal rule.😊
[07:33] Which largely found in its favour, there's also ongoing regional tensions as the crisis in Myanmar.😊
[07:33] Tensions between Cambodia and Thailand, but then there are also these global issues that have significant impact.😊
[07:34] On Southeast Asia and in particular, the conflict in Iran and its spillover effects in the Strrat of Hams have.😊
[07:34] serious implications for energy security for Southeast Asian countries.😊
[07:34] Of the tensions between Chinaa and the Philippininees we're increasingly seeing these clashes between either side.
[07:34] In the south China Sea, to what extent do you think this perhaps undercuts the role that Chinaa wants to play in?
[07:34] The region, perhaps as an anger for stability Yeah, I think that's a really important.😊
[07:34] Question, you see China using sort of strategic narratives about it being a responsible party in.😊
[07:34] The region and you know talking about peace and stability, but at the same time, there are these very assertive.😊
[07:34] Actions, hostile actions that it is taking against other claimant states in the South China Sea that do undercut that.😊
[07:35] Message but the other issue here, of course, is in the context of US China strategic.😊
[07:35] Petition is that there's a big question mark about what the US's intentions are in the region, whether it even has an Asia strategy.😊
[07:35] Whether it is resolved and committed to be an important partner for Southeast Asian countries.😊
[07:35] So question marks about the United States can also have the effect of allowing China to present itself as a.😊
[07:35] More reliable regional partner. You talk about some of the.
[07:35] Commitments that perhaps Southeast Asian leaders are hoping to hear from the U this is coming at a time where you know.
[07:35] We are watching in anticipation for this highly anticipated tru seat meeting to come, what is your c?
[07:36] The stability and relations between the US and China and how important that is for this region.
[07:36] Yeah, I mean, I think it's incredibly important, not just for this region, but globally trying to understand what.😊
[07:36] The temperature of the relationship between the United States and China is at the moment, I think part of the problem is actually just with analog.😊
[07:36] US approach to foreign and defence policy is quite difficult. You have Marco Rubiio who will be attending.😊
[07:36] Meetings this week in Manila, I think talking very much more consistently on things like having an Indopific strategy.😊
[07:36] You know, alliances and partners in the region being really important to that, but then at the same time you have the Secretary of R War Pete.😊
[07:36] Heg Se talking in terms of not of the Indo Pacific, but in terms of the Pacific at the Shangri La Di not so long ago.😊
[07:36] And Paycom is now back renamed, it's not In paycom anymore, it's paycom, so there's all of these sorts of.😊
[07:37] Differentent signals that are being sent out of Washington that makes it really difficult, I think, to assess the trajectory of the U.😊
[07:37] As China relationship talk to us as well about the specter of.😊
[07:37] The impact from the ir war and how that will figure into conversations, you think here.
[07:37] Yeah, I think this is significant, I mean, you have countries in Southeast Asia that are seriously affected by an energy.😊
[07:37] Security crisis, you know, just the cost of fuel on the ground for people creates issues for.😊
[07:37] How people can live their livelihoods, but also political issues for governments so we can't really talk about.😊
[07:37] These issues are sort of isolated in regions anymore, they have these consequences, they might be far away in the middle.😊
[07:38] The Strait of Hammoa is a really important strategic choke point for.😊
[07:38] Transit of crucial supplies, particularly in energy to not just Southeast Asia, but Asia more generally.😊
[07:38] This is going to be a significant topic of conversation and I would expect that regional countries are concerned.😊
[07:38] By the fact that the conflict in Iran seems to escalating rather than deesscalating.😊
[07:38] It presents long term challenges for supply chains and resilience in the region.
[07:38] Also all coming at the time where countries in the Indo Pacificac have been a bit rattled by chin's.
[07:38] firingirOf an ICBM nuclear enabled or capable weapon. How do you think that shifts.
[07:38] Or destabilizes things Yeah, I mean, that is another example of where.
[07:39] You have China talking in one way, talking about Asia as a region of peace.😊
[07:39] Doing things that sort of counteract what they're talking about by testing ballistic.
[07:39] These are flying over the South China Sea into the Pacific and raising real concerns.😊
[07:39] for Southeast Asian countries, but for countries in the Pacific as well, I mean, it's hard not, I think for analysts and for policymakers.😊
[07:39] in these countries to question what China's intentions are, are these tests symbol?😊
[07:39] Is this China trying to say to other countries in the region that we are expanding our military reach?😊
[07:39] And our capabilities is this a warning shot, if you like, These are really important questions and so you have as.😊
[07:40] I said China saying one thing but doing another, and this creates this environment of uncertainty, which is all.😊
[07:40] So not helped by the fact that countries are uncertain about the United States as well.😊
[07:40] Thank you so much for your time today Betroing is director at the La Trobe Center for Global Security and we have more from the ASEA.😊

[07:46] In the second part of the next decade, okay so that's a bit more than 10 years away, which in our.
[07:46] Time frame is almost tomorrow more so we are preparing the next generation of single line, it will come with a fuel burn benefit.
[07:46] Of around 25%, which is contributing to what we were discussing at the beginning. Is that open fan Ro to technology, we have to decide on a number of.
[07:47] Technologies, we are not at the point of deciding That will be the next couple of years. And indeed, an important choice is whether we maintain the.
[07:47] G, or if we go for an open auto, which has better fuel efficiency, but comes with other type of risks ask.
[07:47] What do have fact,'s about jets Europe wants to produce.
[07:47] sWe have the FS program which you were part of and we've got the GCAT program program.
[07:47] part of when you join the GCAP program are you going to make that decision slightly more complex actually still part of the future.
[07:47] But a system that is more than a six generation plane, but indeed, the6 generation plane, as it was structured at the beginning, is normal.
[07:47] So we have to find a way forward to the next six generation fighter for Europe at. we want to continue to be.
[07:48] To your question but again, is a border thing and the French president and the German chancellor have decided last week to continue.
[07:48] to work together for instance, on the network on the so called combat cloud that is so important for connecting the different things.
[07:48] That will be flying in there and in space So FkaS is more than a plane, it's also a plane, and we have to find a way forward governments are working on.
[07:48] Of course we're still so you will stay there, you won't I'm seeing your good friend over at Leon.
[07:48] Do you think he's talked about the fact that maybe you could join G program' a.
[07:48] We have to find a way forward for the sixth generation fighter is mostly the decision of governments to decide with whom they want to partner.
[07:48] We will serve that project anyway for Germany and Spain as we are the industrial partner of Germany and Spain for the generation factor.
[07:48] What do you think about can Europe Re without the Americans I don't think so Americans.
[07:49] Ouries of Europe, Europe wants to real, Europe wants to be more self sufficient, and that's also.
[07:49] The Americans are expecting from Europe in NATO. and when it comes to the industry, we're supporting that effort. So I think Europe is not saying that they will.
[07:49] In the but they want to be able to do more by themselves and a company like is contributing to this.
[07:49] He's got prime minister today what do you think the message should be from this show, from the defense industry should be to Andy B?
[07:49] PronoWe wait and see and we'll be discussing with the prime minister when the prime minister is appointed.

[07:50] ready to engage intensively to address issues with the U.S. according to the prime minister that says we're ready to talk with the U.S. about modern.
[07:50] The USMCA dealThat the U.S has imposed tariffs to violate the USMCA, Canada trade deal.
[07:50] Trumpmp, of course has announced that he will impose a 50% tariff on some canadian goods those take effect in 30 days.
[07:50] And the U.S. is now citing alleged discrimination against us.. alcohol autos and dairy products.

[07:52] This is Bloberg Sur.
[07:52] Australian stocks have emerged as an unlikely haven from the AI driven volatility that has hit other Asian markets.
[07:52] equities reporter carelli agana joins us now from s, so carelli, we've seen Australia's market that was a lagga.
[07:52] Compared to the rest of Asia for most of the year, what's the appeal for investors at a time like this?
[07:52] I think the appeal for Australian stocks at this time is that defensive dynamic coming back into play.
[07:52] Defensive dynamic come in March to an extent with the Iran war this year, we saw it last year with the tariffs and we're seeing it again with.
[07:52] All of the AI volatility now what's underpinning this defensive dynamic, I think two main things, the first one being Australia's heavier.😊
[07:53] Exposure towards the banks, towards consumers, a lot of those consumer facing sectors that get their profits mostly from the domestic.😊
[07:53] Consumer base and the second thing I would say is the lack of exposure to a lot of those chip makers and hyperscalers that have been driving that.😊
[07:53] Volaility in Asia, in US and across the world. Now, does that mean that Australia is not exposed to the AI trade?
[07:53] Still indirectly sort of exposed there, just not as closely tied as we're seeing elsewhere in Asia. We have a strong.
[07:53] Emerging data centre sector, which has been benefiting a lot this year, and of course we've also got our minors, mainly BHP, Rio Tinto.😊
[07:53] Pvootting towards copper, which of course is an important metal in the data center, in the AI buildouts, so a lot of what we're seeing,😊
[07:53] In recent times is coming back to the defensive appeal of atra's markets this?
[07:54] The outperformance might continue what are you hearing among traders I would expect it to continue.
[07:54] The short term, whilst we're seeing a lot of that sort of caution around the AI trade in Asia, but on the longer term outlook.
[07:54] I think that's a little bit more in question if you look at the domestic outlook that's affecting Australia's market and Australia's economy now at the moment.😊
[07:54] It's still quite challenging, of course we have the resurgent jump in oil prices as a result of renewed hostility.😊
[07:54] In the Middle East, that's not helping the inflation problem in Australia at all. If you look at the most recent CP reading.
[07:54] June in Australia, inflation still remains above the2 to 3% target ban that the RBA has set and the labor market is still tight.
[07:54] So all of that is adding pressures to the economic backdrop, and that could in turn e into the profits for a lot of those bigger consumer facing sectors that I.😊
[07:54] The banks, the consumer samplesples, so it's quite challenging at the moment.😊
[07:55] And we'll watch in a few weeks when the Australian earning season begins as well, Kael, thank you so much, great to have you Australia and New Zealand.😊
[07:55] reportermeliaa more in the outlook for Australian corporates in the next hour, Fitch joins us to unpack the risk facing a.

[07:59] being threatened right now and that's the red sea. and of course it doesn't really help that on top of that we have fragility in the AI trade.
