[21:04] Time to launch a 245 trading venue. the new venue is called LSE24 and is set to operate from 5 pm until 7 AM.
[21:04] 750 AM's LSE is saying in a statement it's expected to be ready for client testing by the end of this year.
[21:04] And the U.S and China are reportedly preparing to hold talks on AI in September, this is ahead of President Xi Jinping's planned visit to the U.S.
[21:04] That month, according to Reuters, the date for the discussion has not been finalized, establishing a dialogue on AI was one of the outcomes of.
[21:04] side Trump's state visit to be back in May and finally, nobel norus is su eli lily in U. federal court.
[21:04] We claiming that lily's advertising for its obesity shot, z bound and diabetes injection when jarro is misleading no says.
[21:04] Campaigns rely on outdated weight loss comparisons with lower doses of noble's own obesity shot v govi than what's currently available.
[21:05] On the market e lily has yet to respond to the claims denny thank you isbo and i know we're still out to eli lily awaiting any response to this for more.
[21:05] The lawsuit we are joined by bloomberg health reporter Madison moeller, Madison, isabel summed it up basically there, but what are the details?
[21:05] This case, what are they claiming that eli lily did Yeah, basically what novo is upset about is that in lily's advertisements for.
[21:05] Go or for manjaro and Zepbound, they're using what they say are outdated comparisons so nova was able.
[21:05] Get a higher dose version of wovi approved earlier this year, but lily's advertisements rely on a head to head trial that was used.
[21:05] Lower doses of the drug, so there are updated weight loss numbers, but the fda and the companies themselves usually discourage people from using cross trial.
[21:05] Comparisons, so meaning using different trials to compare weight loss results or any other results and so lily's advertising.
[21:06] Rely on an actual head to head trial, however, novo is saying now there are updated numbers, there's an updated higher dose version.
[21:06] They should be using that instead It seems to me that yes, this is a legal battle, but also a battle for investor confidence and market share definitely.
[21:06] Something this is part of novo's more aggressive strategy, they have a new CEO who's been in the role a little bit over a year now, and he's really trying.
[21:06] Hard to claw back any market share that novo can from lily, if you guys will recall, novo was first to this market with wgovi.
[21:06] Zk and they really created this modern weight loss market, however lily was able to pretty quickly overtake them over the last couple of years with stepbound in Manja.
[21:06] hi are a little bit more effective for weight loss, and so novo is sort of coming out swinging now and trying anything that they can to reel back in custody.
[21:06] And investor confidence, like you said, Well so they have this new drug out, the higher dose. Do we have any idea of what the uptake even is.
[21:06] Of this newer dose and maybe some of the other advancements that they are trying to like point to and say, hey, this is better. Yeah, that's actually a really good question. we asked novo if they had.
[21:07] On this higher dose w goV uptake, they said that they didn't have anything for us at the moment, but it's something that analysts are probably really closely.
[21:07] We know that in the real world, people don't always go up to the highest dose of these drugs. They can often get really good.
[21:07] Lost from lower doses and the higher doses might have more side effects so while in trials, you know people are supposed to go up to the highest dose.
[21:07] Of these drugs, that's not actually what we're seeing happen in the real world. So how are you looking at this, Does this legal battle really change the competitive.
[21:07] for you this it just really highlights that it's been such a crazy market. I mean, we always talk about all of these, I mean peptides.
[21:07] It seems like it's all the craze even in Gen Z Dannyny and I are in Gen Z and you wrote a really good story about peptides this week too, but are you help with that?
[21:07] It is all, I mean, people, we know GLP1's peptide is so popular, the enormous potential market opportunity.
[21:08] I think that this trial is just the latest example of how competitive it is that these companies are really willing to try any tactic to get a leg up on.
[21:08] Each other and these two companies in particular have been rivals for over a century, and that is just going to continue clearly.
[21:08] Nice with each other and it potentially is going to go to the courtroom now, a century long rivalry. that's 10 years, so that's really long.
[21:08] Thank you madison muer of bloomberg for keeping us updated about all of these things later this hour we'll hear from john kckelman group general counsel.

[21:11] 🎼I you're for that edge trade brings you everything you need to know as markets open across Europe.
[21:11] 🎼I'm Anna Edwards and I'm Tom McK. This is your opening trade only on Blingberg.
[21:11] Goldman schs says that high volatility and plunging momentum within the ai trade are good reasons.
[21:11] To find investment themes outside of ai the team led by chief us.. equity strategist ben snyder says compounders with strong earnings growth and returns.
[21:11] Trading at a large discount they also see m candidates and consumer experience stocks as opportunistic so pleased to say that ben joined.
[21:11] now been wonderful to see you and momentum in the AI trade has been really hard of was just looking at our bloomberg long short momentum trade, having its worst.
[21:12] Or on track to since 2021, how much is that just something temporary versus investors in truly, truly looking out?
[21:12] For widening out trades like you're pointing out at this moment, it's not just the performance, the volatility of momentum has been striking on our factor going back 40 years.
[21:12] This is the most volatile momentum has been outside of recessions, and that creates obvious challenges for investors, including the need to just reduce.
[21:12] portfoliosAnd so what we've heard for months is investors asking for investment ideas outside of AI momentum and now that we've seen that reverse.
[21:12] Those calls for other ideas have just grown louder and louder and you argue that the attracted themes outside AI's consumer experiences.
[21:12] Compounds, which d mentioned earlier and MAA candidates, why do these stand out, I must admit I'm not even sure what compounders mean.
[21:12] I think that's part of the appeal, the first step was to look across the market and appreciate that many sectors and themes that should be unrelated to AI.
[21:12] Are trading with a correlation to AI either positively or negatively, healthcare, for example, has some connection to AI, but it's trading like the.
[21:13] V of most AI stocks, primarily from a portfolio flows position. So the first thing we did is look for themes that really are not trading with the relationship one way.
[21:13] The other and then we looked for places where we thought there were strong fundamental tailwinds, those tailwinds include strong consumer spending on experiences.
[21:13] in some of the other dynamics you mentioned for those who don't know, i happen to have a mA show every weday bloomberg deals wenesdays at.
[21:13] Watch watch every if you can start pointing at the wrong camera, watch every day at noon, so if I can ask about m&A, what sectors are you?
[21:13] Looking at that seemed righte for that. that would be good for investors to kind of start sniffing around. So first thing we do is went to our analysts and asked them which companies that you cover.
[21:13] Look like they have the highest likelihood of being acquired and our view is if m andA announcements are rising and as of course you know, they're rising quickly.
[21:13] lead to evaluation premium in these stockcs. And what they did was highlighted three distinct groups. first, of course, is biopharma where we've seen the most activity.
[21:14] And the strongest performance of stocks in that universe. second is the broader tech area, and then third is a collection of stocks from other areas.
[21:14] including industrials and energy, et cetera, and it turns out over the last few weeks, all of those groups have started to outperform as those announcements have continued to come through.
[21:14] The pipeline okay, Ben I think you're going to stick around with us opening bell just in a few moments from now, be snyder of Goldman Sachs, let's get a quick check on.
[21:14] Markets ahead of that opening be and again, we attempt to rebound after three consecutive days of declines up half a percent for the S&P the Nasdaq.
[21:14] 1.4% unbothered this morning by both brrenent crew above $90 a barrel and yields now higher by two basis points at 461.
[21:14] On the other side of this break, we'll have your opening bell.
[21:16] The worldord's most powerful investors don't ring a bell, they quietly reshape entire industries This is the money shaping the world.
[21:16] The deal maker playbook where power and billions of dollars change hands every day from private equity and credit to venture capital in M&.
[21:16] Inside scoop on the biggest deals and debates plus exclusive conversations with finance's ultimate insiders on this.
[21:16] about an activist investor coming up and trying to shake things that what's the latest we've been hearing that there was going to be an activist at some point the question was who.
[21:16] 🎼technology security is a country were playing in the northeat. that's an economy as big as the United Kingdom.
[21:16] ally interesting space to watch we're expecting more consolidation as this is Bloomberg deals at Bloomberg investInvest, I want to talk about the broader deal.
[21:16] & environment is a moment in time we'll see how long we're here it's far too early to call there is an under investmenttment in what's going on in private.
[21:17] Markets because everyone's looking for additional AI cloud capacity and it's very tough to build.
[21:17] W to get things going and the IPO market is just one symptom of it is an early indicator of what we're going to see in the M&A market as go as scarcarlet.
[21:17] Who's taking a closer look at drone companies with ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine, there's renewed investor appetite for new names in the space.
