[07:30] OfAnd so i do think we do get great hikes in seember i actually think today would have been better The market reaction speaks very clearly.
[07:30] 🎼Now we need to talk about what is the credibility of the committee because it cannot only be talk, you will eventually have to follow through and that's why the probability given this.
[07:30] reaction now has gone up quite significantly that they will have to move at the next meeting.
[07:30] The Fed's decision to hold rates steady, so there is this question rightrry as to whether this impacts the credibility of the F.😊
[07:30] ertWhat the meaningful implications are given the level of dissent in this FMc meeting does that really kind of get baked into expectations.
[07:30] as well if so, the question is why did they just move at this meeting and if you take a look when it comes to that big jump across the long end of US.😊
[07:30] Treasuryies are highest since 2007 for the 30 year, clearly these inflation expectations and concerns are taking hold.😊
[07:31] We've seen really most of those gains being held when it comes to the energy markets as well, given that we've now seen to see renewed tensions.😊
[07:31] We're hearing reports of another night of U.S. strikes against ir Iran and certainly when it comes to that off ramp for diplomatic negotiations.
[07:31] They're not looking very clear at all, President Trump saying that the U.S. will strike a run hard as saying that they'll finish them off soon, right soon?
[07:31] None of this setup, particularly if you add in all of these concerns over AI, is particularly clear for sentiment going forward.😊
[07:31] Yeah, I mean, it's a tricky time for central bankers right, they have to really try to adjust to that artificial.
[07:31] Inligence variable as well when you have so much AI fuel demand at the same time not to mention these massive borrowings around artificial intelligence.
[07:31] On top of all of these concerns around the price of oil and inflation expectations, we had some more signals coming from big tech earnings micro.
[07:31] OfThe results beating azure cloud revenue growing 43% the fastest pace in four years.
[07:32] spending likely landing at roughly $175 billion dollars this year and we had investors though punishing meta.
[07:32] Ient disappointed there are concerns that advertising growth may not finance its AI spending. They narrowed their full year capital expenditure.
[07:32] As well let's discuss everything to do with the AI ecosystem. joininging us now is Ivan Fin, a CIO at tigris.
[07:32] FinaIvan great to have you with us, of course, a very key week when it comes to gauging the market sentiment around artificial intelligence.
[07:32] What all of these hyperscales are doing, what's really at the core of this divide when it comes to meta and Microsoft and the investor.
[07:32] Reaction well, I mean, everybody's looking for perfection because these stocks have had great run ups and there's a lot.
[07:32] Of expectations, but I think that though any weakness in these stocks is a buying opportunity, they continue to invest in AI.
[07:33] Certainly, alphaphabet reported results last week increased their capital investment, another 15 billion.
[07:33] Over 200 billion this year and they say more next year, so companies have to keep spending to develop their AI infrastructure.
[07:33] And cloud capabilities, and I think this the AI investment theme has long to run and there's a lot of investment.
[07:33] I guess now the question for investors is whether or not all of these.
[07:33] Invest will actually pay off Why do investors think that for meta, that might not necessarily be the case as fast as it is for Microsoft.
[07:33] Well, because Meta, they depend on metata's advertising revenue to invest in their A.I.
[07:33] Infrastructure and the quarter said the revenue was a little little soft, but I mean, I think that you have.
[07:33] To look beyond that and look for the opportunities that they are creating that will eventually AI will drive increased average.
[07:34] Of course, we're also watching the AI debt space, right, I mean, what does it tell you the fact?
[07:34] That we are starting to see financing fatigue, perhaps even when it comes to meta and their texas data center, black.
[07:34] Selling that debt to finance it and that just coming in at 1.6 times the deal size, which is the lowest cover for these major A.I.
[07:34] ProjectDoes this give you an indication that right now we're not in the competition for technology as we are for financing and who.
[07:34] WdsWell, where there's recently been a lot of controversy over data centers as much as we need them.
[07:34] pushback on where we can put them, New York just declared a moratorium on new data centers, which I think was really economically.
[07:34] neegative to the state and then you have controversy that we may not need as much or as large a data centers as predicted because.
[07:35] The processing power will continue to shrink, use less power, need less resources, which is also positive, but I think.
[07:35] We are going to continue to need a lot of cloud storage and a lot of data center capacity because every day the content continues to be produced.
[07:35] Which needs more storage, it needs the ability to analyze it faster, access it faster, and I think those are the key.
[07:35] Undering trends and we'll need greater and more powerful processors, which companies like quailcom.
[07:35] Videdia and Intel continue to produce and video really at the center of what some people are calling.
[07:35] And worrying about which is circular deals, right, what are the implications if we don't see this AI infrastructure buildout paying up as.
[07:35] Fast as investors expect Well, we've seen this concern before N.
[07:35] Trementd over 100 billion in excess cash, so they may as well get into investing in the industry that they continue to believe has.
[07:36] Tremendous growth and look at the revenue growth of NviIDdia alone and they're on track for their newest processor.
[07:36] And eventually the blackwell, eventually the Fynmen, so they continue to roll out new processors that are.
[07:36] Faster and more powerful and use less power and continue to struggle to even meet demand.
[07:36] When it comes to new Chinese AI models, the fact that they're more efficient, does that mean perhaps more gains for NviDdia?
[07:36] That really compare to what it means for companies like Nvidia, on the one hand and on the other open AI.
[07:36] example Well, there's concerns of increased competition, but the more model.
[07:36] That are created and the more data that is created will only increase the demand for data center capacity and processor capacity.
[07:37] When it comes to the chip side of things, we continue to talk about this memory shortage.
[07:37] The issue with pricing, when you look at it broadly, what would not necessarily reflect of what's happening in the Asians?
[07:37] Space as well. we do get Samsung earnings today. Well, I would like to see a pickup in.
[07:37] Volume so I think you will see price memory prices come down, we need to see it come down because they've just gone crazy over the past.
[07:37] yearear and a half or so, so you need prices to come down and that will be offset by a volume pickup because there's just a tremendous amount of demand.
[07:37] Does that also perhaps give an opening to all of these Chinese companies, despite the fact that we are seeing this export?
[07:37] Restrictions and the increasing rivalry between the U and China be.
[07:37] The rivalry for some time, I mean, Trump is committed to make the US number one in AI, it is the technology of the future.
[07:38] And it is important to both the US economy, US. security.
[07:38] and he's putting a lot of resources behind it, including look, the investment that he's made in Nvidia and other data center.
[07:38] So this is a very powerful competition that the U, I believe, will win.
[07:38] Avan P,'s really good to have you with our CIO at Tigergris Financial and take a look at some of the stuff.😊
[07:38] So we're watching when Japan open shortly southbank will be the spotlight in part because of its exposure to the aI trade and also because it.
[07:38] biggestiggest investment arm holdings saw big declines in after hours training, the chip design company's results point to sluggishness in the smart.
[07:38] the industry overshadowing a lucrative push into data center technology, Also watch chip testing equipment.
[07:39] MaMaker Advest who saw its aRs rise in the U.S. session after it raised its full year forecast well above market estimates.
[07:39] The company touting continued strong demand from the AI boom heidi Yeah, we do have some breaking news chrry when it comes.
[07:39] To Sony at the moment, just some breaking news with Sony approaching Tamron with a $200 billion yen offer.
[07:39] This is a lens manufacturer with a bar proposal of around 200 billion yen according to reporting from diamondd online citing and identified.
[07:39] ReBut we are now hearing that Japan's Tamarong has received that non binding takeover offer from Sony.
[07:39] very closely, the approach reportedly was made back in January, we haven't had comments from neither Sony nor Tamarron.
[07:39] At this point, but we'll bring you more details as we get them, Sherry right end still ahead South Korea tightensbs on.
[07:39] Leverage ETFs as it tries to stop a route that's wiped billions of dollars of investors holdings will have the details next.
[07:40] This is Bloomboard?
[07:40] 🎼Eechnology is embedded in every aspect of our lives and that revolution is playing out in.😡
[07:40] 🎼From finance to defense tech, AI to entertainment from the road to the stars Loomberg is bringing you.
[07:41] 🎼storiestories of companies and people that are pushing tech to new frontiers and the politics reshaping global tech markets.
[07:41] 🎼I'm Ed Lodlow live in San Francisco and this is Bloomberg Tech every weekday only on Bloomberg.😊
[07:41] 🎼Television morning morning this We back to the opening trade money. this is the.😊
[07:41] W Street welcome to balance of power you're watching Bberg deal We to Bberg this weekend. this is bloomberg television.
[07:41] 🎼The multi trillion dollar industry will show you what's happening in EFs like no one else. EF IQ Monday.
[07:41] On bloomberg.
[07:41] 🎼South Korea has pledged additional measures to stabilize the stock market and curb retail access to leverage exchange trade.
[07:41] 🎼Of funds a route that wiped billions of dollars off investors holdings the steps were announced following an emergency meeting hosted by the finance.
[07:42] . lets get to Saul and our deputy bureau chief he Su joins us now he we know that these concerns obviously have been boubblling away.
[07:42] For a while, so in terms of the timing, obviously that massive retail selldown over the past couple of days has come at the time.😊
[07:42] These new measures have been announced right.
[07:42] Trier was an extraordinary market sell off. The costpi has fallen roughly 40% from its June peak.
[07:42] Aed has hit circuit breakers for two consecutive days as of yesterday, lawmakers and regulators increase.
[07:42] concludedc that newly introduced a single stock leveraged ETFs amplified volatility, particularly because.
[07:42] They were heavily concentrated in Samsung electroniclectronics and SK Hyix, the government now says these products contributed to.
[07:43] Acessive market swings and is responding with additional restrictions aimed at reducing speculative retail trading.
[07:43] Give us a little bit of history as to why these leveraged ETFs.
[07:43] When we talk about the single stock ones right have become so controversial, B, so the controversy.
[07:43] Isn't just about investors losing money, It's about whether regulators approved the products that were in.
[07:43] Aly too risky for South Korea's market structure. Unlike more diversified markets, Korea's stock market is.
[07:43] Heavily dominated by a handful of companies, especially like I said, Samsung and SK Highness, one of the opposition party lawmakers.
[07:43] Yesterday said that allowing two times leveraged products on individual stocks in such a concentrated market.
[07:43] price swings, he even described it as a policy failure, saying authorities were too interested in boosting the stock market.
[07:44] Over protecting financial stability I guess the question is whether these new measures is enough.
[07:44] To put support under this market, right they could help.
[07:44] but many questions still remain the government plans to cap retail exposure, increase trading.
[07:44] Cost and create legal authority for emergency intervention, drawing on overseas examples like Hong Kong.
[07:44] However, officials haven't said how strict these investment caps will be or how much trading costs will increase.
[07:44] So while the direction is somewhat clear, the effectiveness will depend on the details.
[07:44] Bloomberg deputy Seul bureau chief heu le there with the latest in the volatility in the South Korean market, which a lawmaker there has called.
[07:45] South Korea becoming essentially a casino. Of course, we talked about those market fluctuations, a big deal to do.
[07:45] With the earning results from S Hyix from Samsung, we're expecting Samsung today, I mean, this talk too, it rounded 70% this year.
[07:45] Came really down from that peak in ju and the Sk Heix, despite the fact that we saw their six full surge in quarterly profit,.
[07:45] See the downside pressure. and of course, in the overnight session, we also had a sell off when it came to Wall Street chip makes, a Philadelphia semiconductor in.
[07:45] Down more than 5% AI capex and momentum trades in focus today. a semiconductor witness continued.
[07:45] The fact that the F actually paused more now with our markets reporter Anthonythony Stevenevens and Anthonython arem talking about the foOMC a fifth straight.
[07:45] For what investors are considered potentially a more live meeting than others and yet we saw the incredible downside pressure for chip.
[07:45] Yeah, it was a very interesting kind of tone to the meeting. right, Wassh, Governor Wassh is basically asking the.
[07:46] MarTo do the job of tightening for itself until he is very sure about what to do. It's a very data dependent F.
[07:46] Asking the market to bear the burden of adjustment, Well, the market, bo the burden of adjustment and the first adjustment was a big move in the long end.😊
[07:46] The third0 year moved above 5.2 on the yield, but also speculative investments in equities collapsed.😊
[07:46] The fall in the momentum trade is what is catching I Bosia. It's not the headline equity news. It's the fact that the Goldman Sachs.😊
[07:46] Delta hedged momentum index fell 6%. This is a Delta flat index. And for that to be down 6% indicates a.
[07:46] AOf pain in the tech trade that is starting to feel more macro. The results season, as well, is showing.😊
[07:46] PeopleEarning, beat and raise that is being greeted with big falls. So we saw, for example, ARM, ASM international.
[07:47] And other kind ofAnd Anthony, let me just interrupt you for a second because you're mentioning those earnings and I'm getting them right now on Samsung.
[07:47] Second quarter results when it comes to their net is actually a beat 71.2 trillion1, the estimate was from around 70.
[07:47] trillion we're also talking about their operating profit coming in at 89.49 trillion.
[07:47] Are the full results, remember we were expecting them after their preliminary quarterly operating profit came in.
[07:47] Broadly these lines, so we're sort of holding steady with sales coming in as 171.5.
[07:47] trillion onean we want to see a little bit more breakout from here when it comes to the divisions, but we will be very.
[07:47] Much focus on the memory profitability, the HbM demand and even perhaps a little bit of their smartphone business because we have.
[07:47] I've seen the weakness there, but returning to Anthony, as we get more lines from Samsung dropping at the moment I.
[07:48] Earer, but this has been a stock that has soared with the Korean market. But at the same time, it's plunged as well. right, I mean, how high.
[07:48] are the stakes for these investors going into these Korean semiconductor makers when we also saw the volatility immense?
[07:48] In SK Hyn, Yeah, So Samsung is a very important kind of foundational stock in Korea because it also.
[07:48] Has the foundry business, It has the DM business in much bigger size than Heix. So this kind of product mix should.
[07:48] Be helpful to Samsung. and we should listen to the earnings call and the analyst briefing afterwards to see whether they captured some of the huge increase.😊
[07:48] The D Ram price, so there which they are much more exposed to also any kind of progress on the foundry business in competition with TMC.😊
[07:48] And how much business they're getting from custom Silic is going to be very interesting. And then finally, their Capex, How much money are they going to spend.😊
[07:49] How confident are they that they're going to get that money back in terms of return. That is going to be very interesting. And lastly, were going in.
[07:49] To a day where the retail has taken a big bath, right, So will they come in to buy this result, Will foreigners come in to buy this result is another question.
[07:49] We saw the Korean won bounce quite hard yesterday, actually, as foreign selling kind of slowed into what was a very deep down.😊
[07:49] And so you saw point selling only coming in around $600 billion, which for the size of the selling is not that big, so we will be very interested to see the flow.😊
[07:49] Dynamics and the details of the reporting in this number. Yeah, Anthony Stevens, there our Marcus reporter asked.
[07:49] We're getting those details that Anthonython mentioned, let's break it down, second quarter chip operating profit coming in at 82.
[07:49] 89.2 trillion1, which is also surpassing expectations when it comes to the second quarter mobile networks' operating loss.
[07:49] And remember here we have seen some weakness when it comes to the mobile side of things a 700 billion1 let's turn to the sales number chips.
[07:50] 127.5 trillion, mobile network sales,33.2 trillion. so we'll continue get.
[07:50] These lines from Sammsung, but suffice it to say that when it comes to the net, we have beat a little bit to the upside, but futures going.
[07:50] Into the market opens in South Korea, still pointing to a little bit of pressure, of course, not surprising, given that we saw that market reaction to SK high.
[07:50] results as well, this is Bloomberg.
[07:51] In case you missed it on Bloomberg grief.
[07:51] You have semis zgging in one corner, but another, you know, the IGVzagging in the other corner, so you've had this cancer.
[07:51] Bly on the index volatility side, but we've continued to say, you know, you have a guy who's limbing in the limbo stick.
[07:51] 1 inches off the ground how much further lower can we go for a lot of these metric like correlation before we see a reflation?
[07:51] Bloomberg brief live every weekday when news breaks in comes the car into Downing street Bloberg has you covered.
[07:52] Bham for all the context and clarity you need a prime.
[07:52] 🎼bird.

[07:52] Lockheed Martin won a $59 billion deal to sharply expand patriot missile production, general Dna and Huntington ins security.
[07:52] 🎼Contracts worth close to $76 billion for nuclear submarines and upgrading shipyard infrastructure Moonshot AI.
[07:52] Ha secured a $35 billion after raising$3 and a half billion in a financing round sources say thats far more.
[07:53] Aging based startup was aiming for as it rides in the success of its breakthrough Kimmy K3 model, the company is now seeking funding at of $50 billion.😊
[07:53] 🎼IP in Hong this Star.
[07:53] Your outlook after quarterly results toppped estimates suggesting that CEO Brian nichol's efforts to win back customers with faster service and new products.
[07:53] The coffee posted a fourth quarter fourth straight quarter, I should point out of comparable sales growth, the company says results.
[07:53] 🎼Force confidence in its growth trajectory Enterprises has posted a net loss of $121 million for the.
[07:53] Three months ended June 30th, compared with a profit of $93 million a year earlier, the loss stems primarily from exceptional charges.
[07:53] sanctions investigations revenue for the same period surged 50% to about3.8.
[07:53] And heidi, we're waiting for the market opens in South Koreaea as we're watching Sammsung electronics just.
[07:54] Announed their full results their second quarter net beating expectations coming in at 71.2 trillion big.
[07:54] Of it was their second quarter chip operating profit, the chip side of things $62 billion U dollars leading to the broad.
[07:54] Our overall profit ats being more or several times more than the June quarter.
[07:54] A year ago, so the chip division really accounting for most of it. Samsung saying that it expects chip demand to remain strong in the second half.
[07:54] And they expect the overall earnings to grow in the second half as well, of course, Samsung, huge market weight on the cost.
[07:54] Together with s Heix and remember sk hex also had a six full surge in quarterly profit, but their stock just plunged in the previous sessions over.
[07:54] Seeing right now the setup, which is for more downside in today's session, you can see even Nikke future is pointing to some downside today we continue to see.
[07:55] They yen stabilizing your multi decade lows, but we're still headed towards that Bank of Japan policy decision on a very busy week right, I mean we just had the FO.
