[08:30] 🎼
[08:30] The countdown is on everything you need to get the edge at the end of the market day.
[08:30] Thehead of tomorrow's trading with the close weekdays on bloomberg contact changes everything.
[08:31] 🎼Take a look at what we're watching when it comes to trading in Asian markets.
[08:31] Volaile actually you do have quite a significant upside when it comes to trading the cost be up by 4.6% we did see that activation of the byside sidecar me.😊
[08:31] It again, becoming sort of less of a surprise, we get it just about every session, it feels like given the amount of volatility, the N H225.😊
[08:31] Up of over 3% there a pretty good sort of lead in from Wall Street when it comes to these tech stocks despite some disappointing investor reaction over the.
[08:31] AX numbers and also over AMD as well specifically here in Australia we are now trading flat slightly to the downside we're hit an intra today.😊
[08:31] A level which suggested we were going to get that record high, the first record high since March this year that would pull back.
[08:31] But some of those miners materials in particular, copper miners are doing quite well with the rise in copper prices though in for a volatile.😊
[08:32] Despite very strong tech performance from the rest of the region, these U.S. curbs on server components are looking likely to dent the Chinax index.
[08:32] Hong Kong futures are lagging at the moment, let's get a bit more on the setup when it comes to the start trading in greater China Overland book marketss reporter Anthony Steven.😊
[08:32] The geopolitics start to step in here in terms of what could potentially suppress the gains that we've seen in mainland China.😊
[08:32] Yeah, it's kind of atrocious timing because yesterday the Chin X was up005% on optimism around participating in.😊
[08:32] Optical set up for in chips. And then you have this kind of media reporting that opticals will be in the focus of US.
[08:32] You saw the US names in that space trade up very strongly on anticipation of less Chinese competition.😊
[08:32] Make up around 20% of the Chx index, the top three optical names. So that's going to be a space that is going to come under some very severe.
[08:32] Term pressure, especially given the gains yesterday, this space also has materially re traceraced from the highs and China's margin balance.
[08:33] inT balance has been concentrated in these names aside from other tech names. And so China's margin balance has also been under pressure as investors.
[08:33] Take margin losses on this space. So how retail trades this space today will be very important, Will they double down on their conviction that.
[08:33] This is a very important focus of the AI trade, or will they have to get stopped out as the US market becomes close to China. This space is also.
[08:33] Per given China's technological innovation on the L L M side. So China is trying to connect more chips together given.
[08:33] That they suffer from a chip shortage at the very high end. As a result, optical, the optical space is very important to China. So it'll be interesting to see how.
[08:33] What about the setup when it comes to the tekhevi Taiwan market?
[08:33] Yeah, life is much easier in Taiwan. I mean, in indexes indicating up three, there were some extremely strong leads on AI Capex.😊
[08:34] SpaceX and MD, and then overnight the price action was almost unanimous as's double digit gains in almost everything that you know.😊
[08:34] Procus from Taiwan, Intel, Brocom, a whole raft of socks names were up 10 to 15.
[08:34] And so very strong leads into Taiwan, what will be very interesting is the go forward spending plans of the likes of AMD and N.😊
[08:34] From the SpaceX kind of from the Spacex Capex ramp up and what they would spend on. So itll be interesting to see how many of these Taiwans.😊
[08:34] These names can hold onto to the gains. They've recently recovered quite sharply. There have been a couple of back to back and limit up names in the.
[08:34] The weeds in Taiwan, TSMC premium went back up to the top end of the range around 17%. So things are looking quite rosy for Taiwan.
[08:34] One exception is the currency that continues to weaken despite all these equity inflows.
[08:34] Events there with the latest on the markets and talking about financing artificial intelligence deals, blackstone is said to be exploring.
[08:35] A second megat package to finance anthropics use of go AI chips sources as say one initial proposal was for at least.
[08:35] $36 billion of debt in finalized the deal would exceed the 35 billion of debt lined up by Apollo and black.
[08:35] Stone some two months ago to fund the anthic lease of Google's custom chips.
[08:35] electronics has unveiled a new generation of aI memory technology in a bid to overtake rivals, sk hex and microron.
[08:35] Known as ZHPM integrates high bandwidth memory directly with AI chips and claims to deliver about eight times.
[08:35] The performance of even the next generation hM5 the movie is part of samsungzephyr to position itself as an.
[08:35] 🎼provider of infrastructure for the AI era Apple sales in India have topped $10 billion.
[08:36] 🎼For the first time, highlighting growing demand for the company's devices in one of its fastest growing markets grew.
[08:36] 🎼year with iPhones for the bulk of sales. the milestone India's growing.
[08:36] 🎼As the company looks beyond the U and China for growth theer Bank of India.
[08:36] I was widely expected to keep rates on hold today as policymakers weigh rising inflation risks from higher oil prices when Bosbody poundy who.😊
[08:36] South Asia's economy and government coverage shows us now with more, so what are the potential conflicting interests in today's decision?😊
[08:36] Look, for the Reserve Bank of India, the inflation rate is within its tolerance band of2 to 6%.
[08:36] But it has been rising, and it was the first time in 17 months that it crossed the midpoint of that tolerance span.
[08:36] 4%. so it is a bit of a worry. We have weak monsoons in India, which is affecting.
[08:37] Swing season, and that would have an impact on food inflation. And the war in Iran is still ongoing. India is a huge impact.
[08:37] Borer of crude oil, and that will have an effect on inflation as well SoB.
[08:37] I is on a weight and watch mode, it does not want to respond to temporary what it calls temporary supply shock.
[08:37] But that is, it's an inflation targeting central bank and inflation is looking a little bit of a worry at the moment.
[08:37] going forward as well, but in terms of the Ford guidance that we're looking for, what's going to be interesting for you.
[08:37] Has maintained a neutral true stance, so we are going to be keenly watching out for whether it maintains that stance or a change.
[08:37] There is not a lot of clarity around how Sanja Malhora, the governor, would phrase that.
[08:38] So if they do change the stance, it won't be like we are moving from neutral to a hawkish stance.
[08:38] Warding around that is going to be interesting or whether they retain the phrasing from.
[08:38] The previous meeting around being data dependent, being on a wait and watch mode and saying in so many words that we are on neutral stands.
[08:38] That warding around what happens next will be quite good, other than fuel prices, how's the rest of the economy shaping up?
[08:38] The economy is proving quite resilient and as we saw for Apple as well, the iPhone market is quite strong.
[08:38] India is one of its biggest markets, so we are seeing household spending being reasonably strong as well.
[08:38] The last GDP data that we had showed the economy grew at close to 8%.
[08:38] So it remains one of the fastest growing major economies in the world. Well get the next GDP data in.
[08:39] At the end of this month, but the high frequency numbers are pointing to resilience in the economy.
[08:39] 🎼y there who leads South Asia's economy and government coverage Morehead here on the Asia trade this is Bloomberg.
[08:40] At 930 am, the market tells you.
[08:40] Its really thinking we beat the drum to the opening be with deep analysis of the forces driving the price action.
[08:40] 🎼What really matters where the money flows, which markets are changing conversations the players sha the narrative innovative growth companies.
[08:40] It's not just like let's buy the Mag7 or AI that's a really compelling story this is where your trading day begins.
[08:40] 🎼And this is open interests only on bloomberg when news breaks in comes the car into downing street bloom.
[08:40] You covered Andy Burnham arriving for all the context and clarity you need, a broad vision here from new prime minister.
[08:40] 🎼Here at first, on bloomberg.
[08:40] Take a look at how Japanese.
[08:41] As are training at the moment on the nike we're seeing gains of almost 3% being led higher by communication services and information.
[08:41] Not surprising when it comes to the tech sector, of course, we saw those record highs in the US session, not to mention that chip makes.
[08:41] So had the four day rally that was the best since 2020 so we're seeing some upside together with some of those.
[08:41] Sly chain names given that we got AMD's results in the overnight session as well, we're following the Japanese yen very closely still.
[08:41] At that mid 157 level against the U dollar, of course, we have heard more from Secretary besant in the U framing the.
[08:41] U.S. support when it comes to supporting the Japanese currency as a regional stability issue when it comes to currencies.
[08:41] JGBs as well, the10 year yield holding at that 283 level, a little bit of a bounce back from the previous session when we saw the downside.
[08:42] PO on JGBs because we saw the weakest auction for 10 year JGB since May of 2025 of course a lot of skeptic.
[08:42] About the Bg's normalization process, not to mention the expansionary policy of the Takaichi government.
[08:42] We have also had some more data this morning showing solid real wage growth a sixth straight month of growth even.
[08:42] For inflation, which is the longest since One sector that we're following in the Japanese market is pharmaceuticals and manufacturing.
[08:42] Giongi is considering expanding its U manufacturing capacity over the next few years,'s looking to diversify its production.
[08:42] Auction base CEO and President Isa Tehiogi also told Bloomberg's Lisa do exclusively thationogi is pursuing a series of.
[08:42] We are looking for a lot of opportunities actually actively.
[08:42] Sing minimum three deals today and of course, were not able to.
[08:43] Guarantee you, we're going to go all three, but this is something that we continuously use.
[08:43] DoAnd of course, the Japanese market is very important and the US market is very important too.
[08:43] And we are going to keep growing the European market as well, so those are the three.
[08:43] Major geographies we're looking into Chinese competition, obviously going back to this is you know, it's a hot topic globally.
[08:43] Some pharmaceutical companies have mentioned there being more cautious about disclosing certain clinical trial results early because of Chinese.
[08:43] Abilities to kind of kind of replicate the results or make very similar drugs in a short amount of time is this something that is on your radar in that sh know?
[08:43] isly cautious aboutI think a small molecule area, even historically.
[08:44] Was exposed to the things you described So when.
[08:44] Submitting the intellectual property, we have been very cautious and we have been you know aiming.
[08:44] To us the thoroughly as possible to create a good IP. So yes, we recognize.
[08:44] I don't think it's only unique for China, the pharmaceutical companies are so competitive and everybody.
[08:44] Is holding a lot of radar screens for the innovation, so it's a competition we admit.
[08:44] So having said that how we maintain our strength, the only thing is we keep running.
[08:44] To the top not science in terms of how we're going to differentiate ourselves from the other companies.
[08:44] A lot of rhetoric now globally, I mean, around the world about geopolitical tension, trade barriers just last month, U.. President Trump.
[08:45] Also have mentioned that he intends to put a big tariff on generics going into the US.
[08:45] Doesn't have a big focus on generics, but you guys are very focused on your message about access to health and medicines curious.
[08:45] What you think about this type of kind of tense rhetoric and how it might impact the future of the pharmaceutical industry globally.
[08:45] Good question, the pharmaceuticalaceut manufacturing, as you know, is heavily regulated by.
[08:45] Each country is the health authority, FDA, EMA, PMDA, MHLW.
[08:45] So it's not easy to move the manufacturing site from country A to country B.
[08:45] Or a place A to B B, having us said that the probably five to 10 years landscape our companies.
[08:46] Way of thinking is the we really want to almost diversify the manufacturing capability.
[08:46] Japan, U and of Europe.
[08:46] there speaking exclusively with Bloberg take a look at how we're setting up could be quite a difficult trade, particularly when it comes to greater to China with.😊
[08:46] These geopolitical pressures on the desire, really an intention to contain some of these Chinese made components.😊
[08:46] For data centers potentially exposed to U.S carriers to risks, we've heard from the latest on that house panel as well.😊
[08:46] This could certainly play out when it comes to some of these tech and AI related names across China and trading in Hong Kong a lot of uplift has of course.
[08:46] Come through with the closing of the gap between the US and China on the AI models this week alone, we had another release from Alibaba that added to that narrative.
[08:46] 🎼Taiwan futures though looking pretty healthy there, you're seeing our Hong Kong tech futures up by just about half a percent abroad.😊
[08:47] 🎼Aly higher session for the rest of Asia, the China show is next.
[08:48] Today.
[08:48] 's immense in brick and mortar when we got into physical retail, our view was that.
[08:48] If the market continued to grow for e commerce, probably a large chunk of the market in this space would stay offlineatell showed me around.
[08:48] New 150,000 square foot atlanta flagship store when customers who have seen us online come into the store.
[08:48] Generally a bit surprised by actually the breadth of what we offer often if you're going online maybe you're looking for something particular but when you come into the store you.
[08:48] You see the market square, you see all these pillows, you see the decorative accents, so what we're seeing actually.
[08:48] Is that in store, we do really well in some categories that online are less a percentage of the total, how does technology help?
[08:49] And kind of making it seamless online to store I think vice versa the biggest thing is for the customer on the front end.
[08:49] That she can be in the store, that she can actually shop here, go back home, complete that purchase and if you look at these sort of.
[08:49] Tags and everything they're all these digital tags that's because they're the exact same prices they are online so you're not going to be surprised that you, you know saw something in the store.
[08:49] And then you decided to purchase it online that it's somehow different and that the offering is different, it's actually very consistent, but when she's here.
[08:49] You can have her app open and everything that she's doing here can be very similar to what she's doing at home, and I think that consistency is quite important.
[08:49] 🎼How do you see AI changing?
[08:49] Gaming and game development in the future, Look, I think the biggest thing that I'm thinking about is how do we just make sure it's solving problems?
[08:50] On the game development side have' gone to a lot of our studios you know big and small, and I'm blown away with how they're using AI.
[08:50] And the production pipelines, how they're using it for iteration and prototyping, that's not production ready, there's still work and so and you know,3%.
[08:50] 🎼Of game development and software. And so there's the traditional applications that we see in enterprise. At the same time, I do not think.
[08:50] 🎼I think it's entirely possible, though, that AI represents a new category of games and a new.
[08:50] Of development and enables more people to create and participate and we'll keep an eye on that and we'll see how we best serve that.
[08:50] A time when policy in washington is driving.
