[12:03] But for what is happening in Asian equities, we've got whaty sus standing in Hong Kong for us when would have for us.
[12:03] Yeah, good morning of beer will, it is quite a cautious mood in Asia today, especially with oil prices going higher amid these uncertainties.
[12:03] Regarding the Middle East tensions now, as you just mentioned, the bigger risk really is around the U. jobs data later today as it's going to.
[12:03] Give a pretty good signal of where the feded's rate hike path is going forward and also we're seeing investors trimming some.
[12:03] Positions ahead of that, as well as potentially taking some profit as this earnings season starting to wrap up. And speaking of earnings, we are seeing quite a.
[12:03] Slew of bad earnings coming through from Japanese tech companies, and that's weighing on the Japanese Nikke 225 index here.
[12:03] Well, the bright spot is, in fact, in onshore China, as we're seeing stocks gaining there with quite solid data from the.
[12:04] TFronWith exports and imports both showing double digit gains for july now flip we take a look at where the Japaneseese yen is trading.
[12:04] Yes, stabilizing today, but really after having weekend pass that 158 level against the dollar so we are.
[12:04] back on intervention watch, but the question really is, is this intervention let gains really going to be sustainable?
[12:04] ThatThe rate differentials remain quite wide between the US and Japan. And that's exactly why the jobs data today will be very important.
[12:04] All right, Wey sue in Hong Kong for, it was also noted to me that today is Sp earnings.
[12:04] clos in Japan, but let's return to the regional story, the Middle East, once again, Iran is reported to be.
[12:04] Seeking to bar US and Israeli ships from the Strait of Hamse, according to local state media, Tehran will require compensation.
[12:05] From hostile countries before they're allowed to sail through the crucial waterway despite those reports, president trumpd.
[12:05] That the remains under u controlI don't want to say it has been sort of open right now.
[12:05] You know, we have a thing called the blockade headed up by the U.S. Navy and we control it and now we control it.
[12:05] Alway shoot something, they always have something or drop a mind, I think we're doing very well.
[12:06] I ship sort have ever gone through Horms, so I don't think that would have an enormous impact. what might be slightly more.
[12:07] And based on the last five, six months, it seems that just about every country in the region.
[12:07] And is considered hostile, right because they went off.
[12:07] We need to keep a careful eye on in terms of the other negotiations, while we know they're ongoing, we know cattle is involved, among many others, no doubt.
[12:07] The mood music still seems to be moving towards some sort of preliminary.
[12:07] Li, so perhaps it's symbolic from the Iranianian side.
[12:07] I mean, again, it depends how they're going to apply it because of the ownership structure in the shipping industry is complex to say the least. So do you.
[12:07] And this to any source of U.S. or Israel, s Arabia, some casualties, as a matter of fact, this is the biggest escalation since 22 stoid.
[12:07] And that is definitely something we need to keep an eye on, I mean it is very concerning the fact that you had attacks both within Yemen but also within that southern Saudi region.
[12:08] scalAnd we know for a fact.
[12:08] Everyone, at least on the other side has been trying to deescalate the situation, so again, look just something to watch over the next couple of weeks.
[12:08] On top of the different warfronts.
[12:08] Climbing as prospects for a lasting agreement to reopen the Strit of her.
[12:08] Remain elusive. So let's get more on the oil specific story from Luloomberg Energy commodity and shipping reporter Chang.
[12:08] And I'm Tran, good to have you with us.
[12:08] It's as things stand right now. Yeah, hi so the picture for oil.
[12:09] As always just said, very, very complex have.
[12:09] YouAs it was just yesterday, right?
[12:09] that we had the Omanis and the Iranians saying that they were close to a deal, and then now we have reporting that suggests that maybe the U.S. isn't really.
[12:09] Included in it, but then you have Donald tru's.
[12:09] OfWhat traders are also looking at is what's happening within the Strai of Hose, have vessels.
[12:09] Traffic that's been really, really quite quiet. We have reports of tankers being fired upon.
[12:10] 80 much lower than your pre or sorry with the war time peaks of $1120, and that's because that is.
[12:10] Workarounds that's going on the UAE has been managing to ferry some supply out.
[12:10] So you've also been reporting on the physical move.
[12:10] And how has oil really been moving, especially from Gulf countries during the major lockdown or closure of the Strait of Hermos?
[12:10] To waterways like the Red Sea, the Mediterranean, I would say that.
[12:11] E has been the most successful in getting oil out of the hormones specifically, it has managed to gather a fleet of tankers often.
[12:11] 🎼Of course, all right, quality companies with pricing power.
[12:11] Bringing you up to the minute geopolitical news whenever and wherever it happens.
[12:11] 🎼For in the lawsuit to highland. And this is bloomloberg.
[12:13] The potential threshold.
[12:14] And that is what we try to do every morning.
[12:14] A Treasury futuresedging lower as higher energy prices revive concerns, the F may need to keep interest rates.
[12:14] Joor us now is10 cap founder junbe Liu to discuss this and wider market movesnba Good morning.
[12:15] with us talking about the Fed. I'm going to start with a question about the Fed, essentially the.
[12:15] Sprint for markets and what do you expect the intricates?
[12:15] Of that report to be and the impact on the Federal Reser, Of course, look at the job report.
[12:15] Going to be very important and the Goldil law condition is that we want to see weaker job rapport and hence push out the F potential.😊
[12:15] Fed rise, I think at this stage, the market economic conditions seems to be going very well across corporates and consumer.😊
[12:15] But we do not need that inflation or potential inflation projection to come lower, so that job report is important we need to see weaker stats for.
[12:15] to feel more confident now, at this stage, I do think that the market is becoming a little bit concerned of how quickly and how many of the rate.
[12:16] Rise that will come through, you know, market is expecting two or three, but if that happens any sooner or more than expected.
[12:16] Could potentially deri a lot of optimism that's just returned to the market.
[12:16] Between the geopolitical tensions, earnings season picking up all these expectations about what the Federal Reserve is going to do.
[12:16] And in plenty of more intricate stories, the tariff story, things that we're seeing on the AI rally, what do you think?
[12:16] Biggest catalyst going forward or for the remainder of the year that markets are either pricing inaccurately or under pricing.
[12:16] Yeah, that's a really good question for investors, there's a whole lot of things for us to worry about at this stage, there's a geopolitical risk.
[12:16] There's interest rate, there's, you know, her whole lot of AI and disruption and all of that, look, I think at this stage because we know interest rates is going.😊
[12:16] High around the world, you know, one by one, regardless when it is, but next directions up, that simply means valuation expense.
[12:17] Will become harder, but that doesn't mean companies that will grow, will be sold off, it doesn't mean share price doesn't go higher.
[12:17] Yeah, so because of valuation becoming a bit of issue and also because of the extreme performance between.
[12:17] The winners and versus the losers so we are selective we are rotating some of the sectors that's been left behind health care is a very interesting sector that.
[12:18] Has lagged significantly over the last year and a half or if not two years and we are beginning to see some life sign of.😊
[12:18] Sign of live in many of those businesses and they're delivering okay earnings and on very cheap multiple so these are the sectors that.😊
[12:18] It looks very interesting and we continue to want to be exposed to the industrial cyclical sectors for the US.
[12:18] We are seeing very strong earnings momentum and then with the onshoring taking place over the next few years, we do think that will continue to drive.
[12:18] Veryry strong growth, the whole AI supply chain, the picks and shovels, we think there's still a lot of room to move for these needs.
[12:18] Okay, and just speaking about earnings specifically, the market seems to have tilted its attention towards guidanced.
[12:18] More than what we're seeing in tangible numbers in terms of earnings. You saw that in Sandisk results yesterday, Western digital as well.
[12:19] That's going to be the market strategy going forward, just looking at the guidance or the forward looking AI led or AI picture.
[12:19] Absolutely, because we know the historical performance has been okay and it's really about what.
[12:19] going to come with the oil price shop, with the consumer, with the potential rate interest rate increase, the guidance is very important.😊
[12:19] Investor wants to know in 12 month time what it looks like now particularly for AI businesses that you know, are you getting return?
[12:19] Out of those investments that you make is going to be increasingly a very key question that investors will ask.😊
[12:19] All right, John Be, we're going to have to leave it there, but thank you as always for your time Ten0C founder Beiluu up.
[12:19] More cash Bloberg learns that deepse is looking to raise $8 billion, resuming its second funding round.

[12:21] 🎼lo the countdown is on everything you need to get the edge at the end of the.
[12:21] get ahead of tomorrow's trading with the close weekdays on Bberg, context changes everything.
[12:21] In case you missed it onberg brief, rolling inflation shocks is likely going to persist for the foreseeable future.
[12:21] So this increase in inflation volatility will lead to an increase in rate volatility, which means the correlation between stocks and bonds have flipped.
[12:21] And we expect that to continue the role that alternatives play when you think about infrastructure is where we're leaning into because clients.
[12:21] 🎼especially on the don't miss live every weekday this week.
[12:21] Breaking news today from wall street to washington earnings season is underway we're going to get some key reports everything you need to know before the markets's open on monday.
[12:21] This weekend, bringing a little bloomberg into your weekend routine Gu up.
[12:22] Welcome back to Horiz's Middle East and Africabank Bea first quarter.
[12:22] 🎼Profit estimates is gains from its intel stake and a in the value of Tiktk owner by dance helped offset.
[12:22] 🎼sewhere in its investment net income fell 18% to $2.1 billion, but it.

[12:23] 🎼Softbank's total investment in open AI is expected to reach 65 billion by October and Albet has.
[12:23] 🎼old $25 billion of investment grade bonds in one of the year's largest order books for AI related debt helped.

[12:23] Over that period now, Bloomberg has learned that deepea has resumed its second funding ground as it looks to.
[12:23] $8 billion in a bid to fund its data center expansion. For more on this story, let's bring in our China correspondent.
[12:23] Minman, good morning, good to have you with us, just how much interest is there that you can tell us about in this round of fundraising.
[12:23] Well, there is quite a lot of interest just judging from the valuation that the company is targeting.
[12:24] Aiming to secure valuation of 500 billion yuan, this is a big step up from the 350 billion yuan it's secured in the.
[12:24] Last round, which just concluded in June. So just a couple of months difference. and we understand that monolith management is one of the.
[12:24] Companies that is looking to invest in the second round, the first round saw deep seek secure funding from the lives of Alibaba, Ten.
[12:24] And state backed investment fund, so certainly a lot of interest in this company that has been such an icon in the Chinese AI space.
[12:24] A big part of that funding will likely go into helping to build out its data center. We previously reported that it was aiming to build a.
[12:24] One gigawat data center in innerner Mongolia. so that's something that could cost upwards of tens of billions of dollars and of course.
[12:24] The interest also comes as the company just successfully launched this V4 flash model, which was one of the most.
[12:25] Use models for several weeks on an API aggregator, so certainly huge ambitions for deep sea.
[12:25] Okay, but ma, why has deepse taken the decision to raise prices?
[12:25] Yesterday that it was going to hike prices significantly. so we don't have details about how much it's going to raise prices, but it told clients to.
[12:25] Preparing for that move and combined with this fundra news, perhaps taking money from outside investors is also putting a bit of pressure on the.
[12:25] Need to pursue more profitability because right now, deep sea is one of the cheapest models available in China, so certainly.
[12:25] This is seen as quite a positive for the broader AI sector because as a market leader, if deepsek raises its price, it could.
[12:25] Provide a bit of a relief and allow other companies to also follow suit and lift prices as well. So overall, seen as a positive.
[12:25] In this path towards profitability All right, Bloombergs Min Min Lo with the latest on that deep seek.
[12:26] Sorry now before we head to the break, just a quick look at where equity benchmarks are sitting right now, we're seeing US futures.

[12:26] Are both dropping to tenths of8 percent we're keeping an eye of course, on rentent crude prices and oil prices generally.
[12:26] At natural gas energy prices are gaining this morning as this unclarity in the middle East still looms around just.
[12:26] What exactly is the deal that Iran and Raman have reached, but coming up, we will talk to George Chevalli.
[12:26] Re manager91 this is Alice copper heads for a record more on what's fuel the rise.
[12:26] 🎼Prices next, this is Bloomberg.
[12:27] In case you missed it on Bberg surveillance.
[12:27] Which is in economy is I think one of the coolest things we've done in the one time a blocked middle seat and coach is just another example.
[12:28] Yeah for a long time in fairness Air New Zealand, this one that came up with it, and I've wanted to do it ever since they did it of all the stuff we've done, I personally think it.
[12:28] 🎼of coolestI love the idea to relax when I was a teenager, young in my 20s flying when I saw an.😊
