LG电子用72块OLED屏参与美术馆艺术展

LG Electronics is presenting a large-scale installation artwork using organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays.
LG Electronics said on the 30th that it will hold the second exhibition of the "MMCA X LG OLED Series" at the "Seoul Box" of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) Seoul from the 31st to November 29th. Christine Sun Kim, a Korean-American artist based in Berlin, is creating the work under the theme "Stubborn Rocks, Reckless Fights." LG Electronics is building an ultra-large curved screen using 72 units of 55-inch OLED screens. OLED has the advantage of finely expressing black and colors, as each pixel emits its own light. It was used to render the texture of drawings and the movement of animation on the screen. The display screen shows animation that reinterprets the movements of American Sign Language (ASL) and the motion lines of classic cartoons. The images and language rules on the screen are composed in a way that continuously changes, allowing visitors to appreciate the work along the large curved screen.
LG Electronics participated in the overall implementation of space and technology from the planning stage of the work. The company explained that the artist's intention to visualize the ever-changing rules of images and language was completed as a digital video work through the large curved OLED screen.
Christine Sun Kim, who is in charge of this exhibition, is an artist who has presented various works, including drawing, installation, media art, and performance, under the themes of language, communication, and accessibility. She is a figure drawing attention in the international art world, having held solo exhibitions at the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Walker Art Center with her original work combining graphic notation (a system that translates sound into visual language) and drawing.
Oh Sung-taek, head of marketing communications at LG Electronics' Korea Sales Division, said, "We will provide an exhibition experience that combines technology and art by rendering the delicate colors and dynamic movement intended by the artist on the OLED screen."
