大宇建设为木洞8团地重建外立面引入丹麦 Urban Agency 设计合作

Daewoo Engineering & Construction (047040.KS) has teamed up with Urban Agency, a Denmark-based urban and architectural design group, to design the landmark exterior of the redevelopment project at the Mokdong 8 apartment complex in Seoul's Yangcheon District.
The builder said on the 1st that it plans to create a distinctive exterior design unique to Mokdong 8 by combining Urban Agency's design capabilities with its own expertise in residential product development and construction. Urban Agency has carried out design projects spanning cities, architecture and public spaces, and is known for designs that draw on urban context and the character of a place.
Earlier, Daewoo E&C executives and staff in charge of design and urban redevelopment toured the Mokdong 8 site on the 28th of last month with Urban Agency officials who had traveled to South Korea, and discussed the direction of their collaboration. The Urban Agency team walked through the complex to examine the layout, surrounding landscape and main sight lines.
The core concept for the exterior design is "Infinity Prism." Henning Stüben, co-founder of Urban Agency, said, "Like a prism that expands a single light into a rich spectrum, we will capture Mokdong's diverse values and residents' lifestyles in the architecture, and by adding the flexibility and continuity that 'infinity' signifies, we will create a living space whose value deepens over time."
Daewoo E&C is bringing in specialist overseas design firms for each discipline at Mokdong 8. British engineering firm Arup is handling structural design and New York-based Supermass Studio is in charge of landscaping, and the company has now added the exterior design collaboration with Urban Agency. The strategy goes beyond differentiating the facade to deliver an integrated design that organically links structure, landscaping and architectural design.
"Because Mokdong 8 sits at the heart of Mokdong, it needs a new design that carries on its existing value while leading the future of residential culture," an official at Daewoo E&C said. "We will complete the entire complex as a single work of art, from the exterior and skyline to the community facilities, and make it a landmark that represents Mokdong."
