Youngone Group (111770) is strengthening its shareholder return policy by expanding dividends and share buybacks.
Youngone said on the 12th that it will maintain a consolidated dividend payout ratio of around 30% through next year. That is 5 percentage points higher than the 25% payout target set out last year in its medium- to long-term plan to raise corporate value. The company will also buy back an additional 50 billion won ($36 million) worth of its own shares through next year.
Youngone also increased its interim dividend. The company set this year's interim dividend at 1,050 won per share, up 50% from the 700 won per share it paid last year, its first interim dividend since the company was founded. Its effective total shareholder return ratio is expected to exceed the 30% payout target.
Youngone Holdings plans to cancel additional treasury shares equal to 5.5% of its total outstanding shares in the second half of this year. Last year, Youngone Holdings said it would cancel 1% of its total outstanding shares each year for a combined 4%, and it completed the cancellations ahead of schedule. With this additional cancellation, Youngone Holdings' total share cancellations will reach 9.5%.
