Socar与Soft Berry签署MOU，在Modu Parking试点月卡捆绑EV充电服务

Socar (403550.KS) is piloting a monthly parking pass bundled with electric-vehicle charging benefits on its parking platform Modu Parking. The company aims to improve charging convenience for EV drivers by combining parking and charging into a single product.
Socar said on the 26th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Soft Berry, the operator of EV charging platform EV Infra, to cooperate on a pilot program linking EV parking and charging services. The two companies said parking and charging are closely connected in the daily routines of EV drivers, so offering both together can improve convenience.
Modu Parking will sell the EV-only product, which combines its existing monthly parking pass with charging benefits from EV Infra's EV Pay payment service, at select parking lots in Seoul. Users can select a parking lot in the Modu Parking app and find the bundled product in the monthly pass listings.
After purchasing the product, registering the service and receiving a charging card, users can charge up to 600 kilowatt-hours a month at charging stations inside the parking lot. That amount allows for an average of about 3,000 kilometers of driving, though the figure varies by vehicle model. Soft Berry is responsible for providing the charging benefits and issuing the charging cards.
The two companies will jointly analyze data including user satisfaction during the pilot period. Based on the results, they plan to consider follow-up measures such as expanding the number of participating parking lots, cross-referring customers between the two companies and improving the efficiency of charging infrastructure use.
Socar has been expanding its EV business. In 2024, it signed an agreement with LG Electronics (066570.KS) to build artificial intelligence-based smart charging stations, centered on Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. In January this year, it launched a demonstration project applying vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology to a rental car service for the first time in South Korea, under a regulatory sandbox special exemption. It installed 15 bidirectional chargers and dedicated V2G parking spaces at the Socar Terminal in Jeju.
"We focused on the fact that most EV drivers see the parking space where they leave their car every day as effectively their charging space," said Noh Hyun-chul, head of Modu Parking. "To provide user-centered eco-friendly mobility services, we plan to closely analyze user response during the pilot period and expand the coverage area going forward."
