现代Rotem为土耳其韩战老兵家庭完成援建及翻新住宅，属社会责任活动而非经营催化

Hyundai Rotem (064350) is providing new and renovated homes to families of Turkish veterans of the Korean War.
The company said on the 26th that it held a completion ceremony on the 22nd local time in Turkey's Hatay province for Heroes' Home, a project to improve housing conditions for local Korean War veterans' families. Attendees included Lee Sim-pyo, defense attaché at the South Korean Embassy in Turkey; Kim Moon-jung, head of the Korean residents' association in Turkey; Lee Tae-young, chairman of the veterans commemoration association; Turkish veteran Mehmet Seker; and Beyazit Yumuk, president of the Turkish Korean War Veterans Association.
The project is part of a broader program to improve housing for Korean War veterans in allied nations, pursued jointly by Hyundai Rotem, the welfare foundation Warm Companion and the Community Chest of Korea. By rebuilding or renovating veterans' homes, the program aims to convey gratitude and respect for their service. Turkey sent the fourth-largest contingent of troops to the Korean War after the United States, Britain and Canada, and is known in South Korea as a "brother nation."
At Seker's house, Hyundai Rotem carried out foundation concrete work, floor tile repairs and exterior wall plastering. The home, whose foundation had been weakened by an earthquake, was restored into a comfortable residence through the work.
Seker volunteered for deployment to Korea after learning of the outbreak of the Korean War. He served as an army artilleryman in the first deployment in 1950 and was shot in the shoulder during combat, but returned to the front line after treatment. "I have cherished my long connection with the Republic of Korea for many years, and I am glad and grateful to receive such warm attention and care," he said. "I am deeply grateful to Hyundai Rotem for remembering our service and offering practical help."
The house of another veteran, Selim Aslanyurek, was also transformed through interior and exterior work including foundation concrete repairs. New houses were provided to the bereaved families of veterans Davut Avci, Halil Demirtas and Samih Cekic, who have died. Those families had been living in temporary shelters after an earthquake. Hyundai Rotem also provided kitchen furniture, refrigerators and other household goods to all recipient families.
Starting with Turkey, the Heroes' Home project will run as a four-year plan through 2029. The company plans to work with the international community to broaden the meaning of global veterans' support activities.
A Hyundai Rotem official said the company is pleased to be able to remember the sacrifice and contribution of Turkish veterans who served for South Korea's freedom and peace and to express gratitude to them. "We will continue to fulfill our social responsibility as a defense company and carry out various community programs linking the nation and local communities," the official said.
Hyundai Rotem has conducted social contribution programs for veterans and their families since 2017, when it began supporting mobility devices for those honored for national service. The company also continues to hold visits to the national cemetery, volunteer cleanups of grave sites and donations of officers' housing for the army.
