HANOVER, Germany — Kia (000270.KS) unveiled its large electric purpose-built vehicle, the Kia PV7, for the first time on the 14th local time at IAA Transportation 2026, the world's largest commercial vehicle show, held in Hanover, Germany. The PV7 supports ultra-fast charging of up to 350 kilowatts, taking about the middle of the 20-minute range to charge the battery from 10% to 80%. In a first for the brand, it has two charging ports — a fast and slow charging port at the front and a slow charging port at the rear side.
The powertrain comes standard with a front-wheel-drive motor producing 200 kilowatts of maximum output and 420 newton-meters of peak torque. Kia plans to add an all-wheel-drive model for rough-road driving. On software, the PV7 carries Hyundai Motor Group's latest systems, including the next-generation infotainment system Pleos Connect and the generative artificial intelligence agent Gleo AI. Over-the-air software updates are supported. Advanced driver assistance features such as navigation-based smart cruise control and remote smart parking assist are also applied.
