Hankook Tire & Technology will supply tires for Porsche's sports car, the 911 Carrera.
Hankook Tire said on the 27th that it will supply its high-performance super sport tire "Ventus S1 evo Z" as an original equipment tire for the 911 Carrera.
Hankook Tire completed the dedicated tire for the 911 Carrera after years of research, development, and verification carried out with Porsche over more than a decade. It implemented a dedicated design optimized for the differing loads and driving dynamics of the front and rear wheels, and met the strict performance targets required by Porsche, earning "NA2," Porsche's official certification marking that designates an original equipment tire optimized for the 911 Carrera.
Hankook Tire applied a tread design and profile shape optimized for driving characteristics on the front and rear wheels, and developed a dedicated compound to deliver the driving performance required for high-performance sports cars. In addition, it applied special resin and high-content silica, and secured stable performance on both dry and wet road surfaces through an innovative mixing process.
To further enhance completeness, the company conducted intensive, multi-angle verification at major high-performance test tracks in Europe. It verified lane-change and handling performance in Papenburg, Germany, and Idiada, Spain, and high-speed dry-road handling performance in Nardò, Italy. In Pferdsfeld, Germany, and other locations, it optimized wet-road handling performance, while also carrying out technical collaboration with Porsche to optimize driving performance.
Meanwhile, Hankook Tire, leveraging its quality competitiveness, supplies original equipment tires to about 40 automaker brands and more than 300 vehicle models worldwide.
