POSCO E&C获韩国首个改造公寓楼板冲击噪声认证

POSCO E&C has developed a floor-impact noise reduction technology for remodeled apartment buildings and become the first company in South Korea to win certification for it from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The builder said on the 31st that its remodeling-only noise reduction technology, called An-ullim R, received certification on the 7th under the ministry's post-construction verification system for floor-impact noise. Under that system, the sound insulation performance of apartment floors is measured on site after construction is completed. POSCO E&C developed An-ullim R so that it can also be applied to remodeled apartment buildings, which are not legally subject to the requirement.
Because remodeling projects reuse the existing structure, there are limits to how much floor thickness can be increased. An-ullim R improves both the floor and the ceiling structure, cutting noise transmission while minimizing the loss of ceiling height.
In performance tests by an accredited testing agency, the technology met the same legal standards applied to newly built apartments for both heavy-impact noise, such as children running or walking, at grade 3, and light-impact noise, such as small objects like toys being dropped, at grade 1. A lower grade number indicates a quieter result.
"An-ullim R is a technology that reduces floor-impact noise while minimizing the loss of ceiling height, so it can improve both residential satisfaction and asset value in remodeled homes," an official at POSCO E&C said. "Improving the quality of housing in aging apartment complexes is an important social task, and we will continue developing practical technologies to set a new standard for housing quality in Korea."
