onsemi has signed definitive agreements to sell two manufacturing facilities in Tarlac, Philippines, and Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, the company announced on July 7. The move is part of the company's ongoing effort to optimize its manufacturing footprint.
The Tarlac facility will be sold to Taiwanese semiconductor packaging and testing company Greatek Electronics. onsemi said the transaction is expected to close within the next three to six months, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. The company has also entered into a long-term supply agreement with Greatek Electronics, allowing it to continue sourcing products from the site after the sale is completed.
The Mountain Top facility will be acquired by Swedish semiconductor company Silex Microsystems. onsemi said the transaction is expected to close in January 2028. The company plans to transfer production currently carried out at the Mountain Top site to its other manufacturing facilities.
