韩华费城造船厂获选建造美国导弹防御试验船

Hanwha Philly Shipyard has been selected to build vessels supporting the United States' Golden Dome for America missile defense initiative.
The U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) announced on July 17, local time, during the christening ceremony for the fourth National Security Multi-Mission Vessel (NSMV), Lone Star State, at Hanwha Philly Shipyard, that it had awarded the contract for the construction of the Missile Range Instrumentation Vessel (MRIV). The new vessel, named Golden Defender, is scheduled to begin delivery in 2030.
Hanwha Philly Shipyard will execute the project in partnership with TOTE Services, which will serve as the Vessel Construction Manager (VCM). The MRIV supports missile flight tests by tracking missile trajectories, collecting telemetry data, providing communications support and analyzing test results. It is considered a key asset for the deployment of the next-generation Golden Dome missile defense system. Hanwha Philly Shipyard will construct the vessels, while TOTE Services will oversee schedule and cost management. The two companies previously collaborated on MARAD's five-vessel NSMV program.
Hanwha Philly Shipyard has been awarded contracts for all five NSMVs, delivering three vessels while two remain under construction. That track record helped secure its selection for the MRIV program. Hanwha Philly Shipyard and Hanwha Defense USA are also participating in the concept design program for the U.S. Navy's Next Generation Logistics Ship (NGLS).
