  • Halla Cast

  • Halla Cast短线已大幅反应,次日追高容易变成主题拥挤交易。

Expectations are rising that Korean parts makers will find greater opportunities to enter the North American market as the United States introduces regulations targeting advanced Chinese robots. Analysts say auto parts companies with long track records and stable production capacity are especially well positioned to capture the new market through a swift business shift. The government plans to expand support, including greater research and development (R&D) and workforce training.
According to the parts industry on the 3rd, Halla Cast (125490) will supply robot thermal management components to a global company based in North America starting in the second half of this year. The company will deliver heat-dissipation cases that surround the semiconductors built into robots. To meet this demand, it has decided to double the production capacity of its parts processing line at its Incheon plant. The company is moving quickly to shift its business by leveraging its track record of accumulating advanced lightweighting technology in the auto parts market.
SL (005850) is also understood to be launching full-scale mass production of the leg module for "Spot," the quadruped robot of US-based Boston Dynamics, during the third quarter of this year. It also handles some contract manufacturing of "MobED," Hyundai Motor Group's mobile robot. The company's auto parts technology can be applied to producing robot joints and drive systems.
Sales activities to seize new opportunities in the North American market are also underway. Samhyun (437730) participated in the "Physical AI Super Connect 2026" exhibition held in Silicon Valley in the United States in June, seeking opportunities for collaboration with local companies.
Such efforts by Korean parts makers are expected to gain momentum as favorable conditions take shape in the local market. The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced on the 28th of last month that it would fully ban imports of new models of humanoid robots and quadruped robots. Analysts say that while the FCC's import ban applies to all imported products regardless of country of origin, it is a measure aimed at China. A robot industry official said, "The US strengthened the regulation with the intent to pressure overseas robot production facilities to relocate to the United States," adding, "The auto parts industry, which has long operated local factories as suppliers to Korean automakers, has become better positioned to shift into a robot parts maker."
The government plans to support technology development and demonstration for parts makers' transition into robot parts firms, and to expand R&D investment in the three key components: actuators, robot hands and sensors. Goldman Sachs, in a recent report, assessed that Korea will establish itself as a key country in the global humanoid robot supply chain based on the expertise it has accumulated in the automotive industry. It forecast that through the supply of key components and direct manufacturing, Korea will mass-produce 74,000 units by 2030, equivalent to 30% of global humanoid production.
