Nokia held its Amplify Korea 2026 event on July 2 under the theme, "Network Innovation for the AI Supercycle." During the event, the company explored how networks are evolving to support increasingly intelligent and data-intensive AI-driven services, focusing on topics including AI-RAN, global mobile network trends, and next-generation connectivity.
Ahn Tae-ho, President of Nokia Korea, said that "as the transition to an AI-driven economy accelerates, the importance of intelligent, scalable and automated networks continues to grow." Han Hyo-chan, Chief Technology Officer of Nokia Korea, shared Nokia's perspective on the role and significance of AI-RAN in a presentation titled "The Impact of AI-RAN on the Korean Market."
Cho Bong-yeol, Product Management Lead for Nokia's Mobile Networks business, also outlined global trends in how telecommunications operators are evolving their networks toward AI-native architectures to expand AI services and prepare for growing demand for future connectivity in the AI supercycle.
Nokia also hosted guided demonstration tours at Amplify Korea 2026, allowing attendees to experience its latest technologies firsthand. The company demonstrated how mobile network functions and AI applications can operate on shared infrastructure through its cloud-based AI-RAN innovations, and how the Nokia Network Services Platform (NSP) simplifies troubleshooting across IP transport networks using AIOps (AI for IT Operations).
In addition, Nokia showcased advanced Data Center Interconnect (DCI) technologies that support low-latency, high-performance and quantum-safe data transmission across AI factories, cloud environments and data centers. The company also presented its vision for the next evolution of broadband connectivity, demonstrating how telecommunications operators can simultaneously operate 1G, 10G and 50G Passive Optical Network (PON) services over a single optical network.
Ahn said, "Networks are becoming increasingly important as the core infrastructure underpinning the AI supercycle. Through continued innovation across both wired and wireless network infrastructure, we will actively support South Korea's digital transformation goals and the realization of next-generation connectivity."
