LG Electronics(066570.KS)

LG Electronics has commercialized for the first time a variable organic light-emitting diode (OLED) popup display that changes its position and size for the Genesis GV90, the flagship electrified sport utility vehicle (SUV) from Hyundai Motor Group's luxury brand Genesis.
LG Electronics said Oct. 8 that it supplied six in-vehicle solutions for the GV90: a variable OLED popup display system, integrated infotainment system, rear-seat entertainment system, console touch screen, automotive content platform and central communication unit.
The variable OLED popup display is installed between the driver and front passenger seats. During driving, the 23.6-inch screen displays instrument cluster and navigation information. When the vehicle is stationary, the screen rises 90 millimeters and expands to 24.6 inches. Passengers can use the larger display to watch content such as movies and videos. LG describes it as the first variable popup display system of its kind to be deployed in a Genesis model.
The integrated infotainment system operates on Hyundai Motor Group's in-vehicle Pleos Connect platform. The system simultaneously controls the instrument cluster, head-up display (HUD) and audio, video and navigation (AVN) functions. It also supports the group's Gleo AI in-vehicle voice assistant.
LG Electronics also supplied separate displays and controls for the rear seats. A 13.2-inch OLED display is installed behind the front seats, while an 8-inch console touch screen is positioned in the center. Rear-seat passengers can watch video content and control the climate, lighting, seat temperature and massage functions.
The automotive content platform enables users to access online content inside the vehicle. On the GV90, users can access Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, TVING and Wavve. LG Electronics plans to add video-conferencing services Zoom and Webex, European free ad-supported streaming service Rakuten TV and children's content service HappyKids. LG officially refers to the platform as its Automotive Content Platform (ACP).
The central communication unit connects electronic control units inside the vehicle with external communication networks. Drivers can use the unit to remotely control the vehicle and update software over the air. It has been certified by TÜV Rheinland for compliance with ASIL-D, the highest Automotive Safety Integrity Level under the ISO 26262 international standard for automotive functional safety. LG identifies the solution as CCU 2.0.
LG Electronics is expanding its supply scope by integrating displays, infotainment and connectivity functions from individual components into broader in-cabin vehicle systems. At CES 2026, the company also unveiled an "AI Cabin Platform" combining a transparent OLED for the windshield with vision AI and in-vehicle on-device AI.
Eun Seok-hyun, president of LG Electronics' Vehicle Solution (VS) Company, said the company is combining display, infotainment, content platform and vehicle-control technologies to provide an intuitive in-car experience and will continue to advance integrated in-cabin vehicle solutions.
