OliX完成OLX104C脱发药1b期给药并计划进入2a期

OliX is accelerating its new drug development by completing patient dosing in a Phase 1b trial of its male pattern hair loss treatment and moving into a Phase 2 trial. The company, which is conducting joint research on skin and hair with global beauty firm L'Oréal Group, will also expand its hair loss business by commercializing its own hair loss cosmetics this year.
OliX said on the 4th that it completed patient dosing on the 27th of last month in the Australian Phase 1b trial of its male pattern hair loss treatment "OLX104C." After completing patient follow-up observation and data analysis for the Phase 1b trial this month, the company plans to enter a Phase 2a trial to verify the drug's efficacy.
OLX104C is a ribonucleic acid (RNA) interference therapeutic designed to reduce the expression of the androgen receptor (AR), one of the main causes of male pattern hair loss. Male pattern hair loss is a condition in which dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a type of male hormone, binds to the AR of hair follicle cells, gradually thinning the hair. Unlike existing oral treatments that suppress DHT production and act throughout the body, OLX104C is being developed to be applied topically to the scalp to lower AR expression itself. The goal is to reduce the potential for side effects associated with the systemic exposure of existing treatments. Lee Dong-ki, CEO of OliX, stressed, "We will accelerate clinical trials so that it can be developed into a male pattern hair loss treatment with a differentiated mechanism."
Along with developing the hair loss treatment, OliX is also pursuing a cosmetics business. It will officially launch its self-developed hair loss cosmetic "Uverna Hair Tonic" in the second half of this year. Last year, the company signed a joint research contract with L'Oréal Group in the field of skin and hair regeneration. Through this, there is potential for OliX's RNA technology to be used in the development of functional hair cosmetics. L'Oréal Group's venture fund "BOLD" also completed a 10.5 billion won equity investment in OliX in July this year.
