One person died and several others were injured in an incident involving the park's 200-foot-tall Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia in Cobb County shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, according to reports, citing local police.
Police did not provide additional details about the incident, the report showed.
Witnesses told a local news station they saw a man fall from the roller coaster and strike the ride several times. Riders were later seen being evacuated from the roller coaster after it stopped near the top of the ride, the report said.
Six Flags said its park staff and local authorities responded immediately to the incident, adding that it was cooperating fully with the investigation, had temporarily closed similar attractions across its parks and would not release further details out of respect for the family's privacy, according to the report.
The company's shares have fallen 22% year to date.
