SK Chemicals (285130.KS) held an "emergency relief kit assembly" volunteer activity as part of its "2026 Value Day" program at its headquarters in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province, the company said on the 13th.
Value Day is a social contribution program that SK Chemicals has pursued since 2025 to support the happiness and recovery of vulnerable groups in local communities. Last year, the company assembled 450 emergency relief kits, 150 of which were distributed first to families with disabilities in the wildfire-affected areas of Uiseong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok in North Gyeongsang Province.
The kits contained 30 types of items needed by disaster victims when disasters or calamities occur, including food, hygiene, emergency and safety supplies, daily necessities, and desiccants.
SK Chemicals employees assembled a total of 400 emergency relief kits and delivered them to G-Foundation, a social contribution non-governmental organization (NGO). G-Foundation stores and manages the kits at a logistics warehouse in Yeoju and distributes them within three days to areas requiring emergency aid when disasters occur.
SK Chemicals said it plans to actively identify and pursue environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities that will contribute to solving problems facing society, including the climate crisis and disasters, based on employee participation.
"As the climate crisis accelerates, social uncertainties such as disasters continue to increase," said Ko Jung-seok, head of SK Chemicals' Management Support Division. "The company and its employees will seek various ways to actively participate in social issues and prepare for them together."
