Whitehawk Therapeutics, Inc. (
WHWK
) presented new real-world analyses showing that PTK7 expression remains durable and treatment-agnostic in patients with EGFR wild-type non-small cell lung cancer, reinforcing its relevance as a next-generation antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) target.
EGFR wild-type NSCLC represents a large patient population with limited targeted options, and many individuals progress through multiple lines of standard-of-care therapy, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Identifying tumor targets that remain stable after treatment is critical for ADC development.
The analyses, presented at the IASLC 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in Seoul, evaluated PTK7 expression in tumor samples from patients with EGFR wild-type lung adenocarcinoma. PTK7 levels remained largely stable following standard-of-care therapies and showed less treatment-associated variation than several other ADC targets currently in late-stage development. PTK7 expression was also consistent regardless of the presence or absence of other actionable genomic alterations (AGA).
A separate real-world analysis found that overall survival in advanced EGFR wild-type lung adenocarcinoma was not impacted by PTK7 expression, supporting its use as a target-engagement biomarker independent of prognosis and strengthening its translational relevance for ADC payload delivery.
Margaret Dugan, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Whitehawk Therapeutics, stated that understanding how PTK7 behaves in real-world treatment settings is central to the development strategy for HWK-007, the company's next-generation PTK7-directed ADC currently in Phase 1 development. She noted that the stability of PTK7 expression after standard therapies adds "important translational context" as the company advances HWK-007 in EGFR wild-type NSCLC.
WHWK has traded between $1.80 and $5.49 over the past year. The stock is currently trading at $4.08, down 0.73%.
