大宇建设置业在印尼推进AI数据中心、SMR、LNG和新城综合开发合作

Daewoo Engineering & Construction (Daewoo E&C) has stepped up efforts to build an integrated energy and artificial intelligence (AI) data center model in Indonesia.
Daewoo E&C said on the 13th that Chairman Chung Won-ju visited Jakarta, Indonesia, from the 7th to the 11th, meeting with local political and government figures as well as major developers to discuss cooperation plans.
During the visit, Chung proposed an integrated development model that simultaneously builds gigawatt (GW)-scale AI data centers and new city development, alongside small modular reactors (SMR) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals. He also held consecutive meetings with Sugeng Suparwoto, chairman of the House of Representatives' 12th Committee, and Todotua Pasaribu, vice minister of the Ministry of Investment and Downstream, sharing Daewoo E&C's future business direction and discussing ways to expand cooperation.
The Indonesian government reportedly expressed its intention to support the pursuit of related projects. In a meeting with sovereign wealth fund Danantara, the two sides also discussed ways to expand cooperation in new city development and investment development projects. Both parties shared possibilities for cooperation in the process of pursuing large-scale development projects and agreed to continue identifying follow-up projects.
Indonesia, along with Vietnam, is a country that Daewoo E&C is cultivating as a key overseas strategic market. Since entering the local market in 1986, Daewoo E&C has carried out a total of seven projects worth 540 million dollars (811.9 billion won) in the construction and plant sectors, including the Kraft paper mill, District 8, and the Tangguh LNG expansion project. Last year, Chung paid a courtesy call on President Prabowo Subianto to convey his commitment to business expansion, and in April this year, on the occasion of President Prabowo's visit to Korea, Daewoo E&C signed a business agreement on new city development with Sinar Mas Land and the Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation.
Daewoo E&C plans to expand energy and infrastructure projects linking SMR, LNG plants, and AI data centers, as well as real estate development, in Indonesia going forward. The company also intends to build a business model encompassing investment and development based on its experience developing Starlake City in Vietnam. "Indonesia is a key strategic market with abundant growth potential," a Daewoo E&C official said. "We will expand cooperation in various fields, including energy infrastructure, AI data centers, and real estate development."
