Renault Korea said on the 3rd that its combined domestic and overseas sales in July fell 58.2% from a year earlier.
Domestic sales stood at 1,704 units, down 57.4% year-on-year. Exports plunged 59.2% to 1,326 units.
By model, combined domestic and overseas sales of the Grand Koleos, the company's flagship model, fell 32.2% year-on-year to 982 units in July. Sales of the Filante also dropped 43.1% over the same period to 757 units.
As the decline in performance widened, Renault Korea is preparing to cut production. Specifically, the company is reviewing a plan to reduce its UPH, or units produced per hour at the plant, from the current 55 units to 45 units, a decrease of 18.2%.
