LG Uplus收购PAGO Networks以强化企业网络安全MDR能力

LG Uplus announced on Aug. 4 that it has acquired managed detection and response (MDR) provider PAGO Networks as part of its strategy to strengthen cybersecurity services for enterprise customers. Financial terms of the transaction, including the investment amount and ownership stake acquired, were not disclosed due to confidentiality agreements between the two companies.
The acquisition will allow LG Uplus to internalize PAGO Networks' threat detection, analysis and response capabilities and enhance its position in the enterprise security market.
MDR services continuously monitor corporate IT environments, detect and analyze security threats, and provide response measures around the clock. Unlike traditional security solutions that primarily focus on threat detection and alert generation, MDR services involve security professionals who actively investigate incidents and respond to threats.
PAGO Networks is considered one of South Korea's leading MDR providers. Its flagship product is DeepACT, a proprietary security operations platform. The company provides MDR services to customers across industries including finance, manufacturing and information technology, and has expanded operations into seven Southeast Asian countries, including Malaysia and the Philippines.
Industry observers said LG Uplus was likely attracted not only by PAGO Networks' business performance but also by its strategic assets, including a 24-hour security operations organization, its proprietary MDR platform, a customer base of approximately 300 corporate clients, expertise in manufacturing, energy and operational technology (OT) security, and an established business network in Southeast Asia.
LG Uplus has been expanding its enterprise security portfolio through offerings such as U+ Premium Security Monitoring, AlphaKey—an integrated authentication service based on post-quantum cryptography (PQC)—and U+ SASE, a cloud-based security platform. The addition of MDR capabilities is expected to further strengthen the company's ability to provide end-to-end security services covering deployment, operations and threat response.
"This acquisition is aimed at delivering more comprehensive security services to enterprise customers while elevating LG Uplus' security response capabilities to the next level," Kwon Yong-hyun, executive vice president and head of the Enterprise Division at LG Uplus, said in a statement.
According to market research firm Deep Market Insights, the global cybersecurity market is projected to grow from $260.6 billion in 2025 to $916.9 billion by 2034. Over the same period, South Korea's cybersecurity market is expected to expand from $2.89 billion to $9.89 billion, representing a compound annual growth rate of 14.7%.
