KB Financial Group's Chairman Recommendation Committee (CRC) said on July 3 that it has finalized a six-person shortlist for the group's next chairman, comprising four internal candidates and two external candidates.
The four internal candidates, listed in Korean alphabetical order, are KB Financial Group chairman Yang Jong-hee, division heads Lee Jae-geun and Lee Chang-kwon, and KB Kookmin Bank president Lee Hwan-joo. The two external candidates are former Woori Bank president Kwon Kwang-seok and one individual who requested anonymity.
The CRC will conduct first-round interviews with the six shortlisted candidates on Aug. 27, after which the list will be narrowed to three finalists. A second round of in-depth interviews with the three finalists will be held on Sept. 11, and the committee will then select a single final nominee.
Cho Hwa-jun, chairperson of the CRC, said the committee would continue to pursue a transparent and objective evaluation process to appoint the best possible chief executive who meets the expectations of shareholders and customers.
