Hyundai Mobis (012330) held a technology innovation festival to showcase research and development achievements spanning from employee idea generation to patent creation.
The company said on the 26th that it hosted the "2026 M.Fields Festa & Invention Day" on the 23rd at its technical center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
The event combined "M.Fields Festa," an in-house idea competition, with "Invention Day," which promotes intellectual property sharing and invention activities.
Hyundai Mobis operates M.Fields, an internal idea platform designed to surface new employee proposals and apply them to business operations and R&D. This year, about 650 ideas were submitted, centered on core future mobility areas such as electrification and automotive electronics. Cumulative submissions have reached roughly 6,400 since the platform launched in 2020.
At this year's event, the five finalists presented the background of their proposals and the technical features that set them apart, and about 300 employees in attendance selected the year's best idea through real-time voting.
Two proposals were named top ideas: an "AVN-AR driver assistance system based on color visualization of surrounding vehicles' relative speeds," which uses color to display the movement of nearby vehicles so drivers can intuitively grasp hazardous situations, and a "generative AI-based AR traffic law guidance system," in which generative artificial intelligence provides real-time guidance on traffic regulations suited to driving conditions.
Lee Kyu-seok, president of Hyundai Mobis, presented awards to the top idea winners as well as to employees who delivered strong results in R&D areas including outstanding patents and employee inventions.
The venue also featured exhibition space introducing standout ideas, patents and collaboration cases. In particular, hands-on booths displayed ideas realized as prototypes, allowing employees to see firsthand how proposals develop into actual technologies and products and ultimately into patents.
