Natera, Inc. (NTRA), a company specializing in cell-free DNA and precision medicine, has announced a collaboration with Angiex, Inc., a privately held biotech company developing Nuclear-Delivered Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ND-ADCs).
Angiex is currently conducting a Phase I clinical trial of AGX101, an investigational therapy designed to target TM4SF1-expressing tumor cells and tumor-associated endothelial cells. This dual-targeting approach aims to address both tumor cells and the supporting vasculature in patients with unresectable, locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors.
As part of the collaboration, Natera's Signatera test will be used for longitudinal circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) monitoring to assess treatment response. Signatera provides a personalized measure of ctDNA that may complement imaging, offering additional insights when radiological findings are uncertain.
Paul Jaminet, Ph.D., co-founder and CEO of Angiex, stated that AGX101 has the potential to deliver a differentiated therapeutic approach for patients with advanced solid tumors, and that ctDNA monitoring could enhance understanding of treatment response.
Eric Matthews, general manager of biopharma, at Natera, added that Signatera provides depth into early biologic response assessment, which may inform AGX101's development and advance this novel drug class.
Natera operates CLIA-certified laboratories in Texas, California, and Colorado, with its tests supported by more than 400 peer-reviewed publications. This partnership underscores the growing role of precision diagnostics in oncology and highlights the potential of ctDNA testing to complement traditional imaging in clinical trials.
NTRA has traded between $157.43 and $340.96 over the past year. The stock closed Wednesday's trading at $338.45, up 0.52%. In pre-market trading the stock is at $338.50, up 0.01%.
