HMM 50周年故事书获得2026年红点设计奖

HMM (011200) announced on the 22nd that its 50th anniversary storybook, "HMM Logbook," won a prize in the brands and communication design category of the "Red Dot Design Award 2026."
The Red Dot Design Award was established in 1955 by the Design Center North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. Along with Germany's iF Design Award and the U.S. IDEA Design Award, it is considered one of the world's three major design awards. About 20,000 works are submitted each year across three categories: product design, brands and communication design, and design concept.
Marking its 50th anniversary this year, HMM produced two volumes of its 50-year history, including a comprehensive history and a storybook, together with historical compilation specialist Dani Planning Co. Among these, the storybook "HMM Logbook," in the form of an essay collection, earned the prize in recognition of its originality.
HMM Logbook was designed with the motif of a logbook, in which records of daily routes, wind directions, and hardships overcome are inscribed to chart the coordinates for the next voyage. The cover design takes the form of a compass, and the case was produced with consideration of the HMM brand color.
"We are very pleased that a record capturing half a century of history has been recognized at a design award where consumer products are the primary winners," an HMM official said.
A Dani Planning official added, "To capture the narrative of Korea's shipping industry, we hid precise interactive elements throughout, such as vision keywords that are revealed when the perforated line of the deep blue case is opened." The official added, "Our planning intent — to offer a special experience of boarding the ship HMM and setting sail toward the future the moment one turns the pages — resonated on the global stage."
