不做 起亚(000270.KS)
MOU性质偏软,未披露金额、车辆规模或短期业绩增量;对起亚这种大市值车企不足以构成短线可交易利好。
不做 KT(030200.KS)

Kia (000270.KS) will launch a remote driving service this year based on the PV5, its first dedicated purpose-built vehicle (PBV) model.
Kia signed a "memorandum of understanding (MOU) to pursue the commercialization of remote driving technology" with KT and SUM at its headquarters in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, on the 23rd.
Key participants attended the signing, including Kang Ju-yeop, senior vice president of Kia's New Business Planning Office; Seo Sang-gyu, senior vice president in charge of KT's (030200.KS) Enterprise Business Division 1; and Hyun Young-jin, CEO of SUM.
The MOU was established to commercialize a remote driving service using the PV5.
The PV5 successfully completed a remote driving demonstration on public roads in November last year, the first in Korea.
The three companies aim to launch the PV5-based remote driving service within this year.
Kia will handle vehicle and technology development, KT will manage communications infrastructure and network quality, and SUM will oversee remote driving technology and control systems.
Based on data secured during the operation of the remote driving service, the companies plan to advance autonomous driving technology and continue cooperation to build an unmanned mobility ecosystem.
Remote driving is a technology in which a driverless vehicle is operated and controlled remotely from an external control center through 4G and 5G wireless networks.
It is used as an alternative technology that enhances user mobility convenience and supports safe movement when a malfunction or abnormality occurs in an autonomous vehicle.
For example, a vehicle can be dispatched to a user's home when needed and then moved to a separate space after the passenger disembarks, reducing urban parking problems.
It can also be used as a vehicle that provides services such as mobile unmanned marts or unmanned libraries in areas lacking living infrastructure, making it highly useful for local governments and the public sector.
"The goal of this MOU is to establish a foundation for cooperation that can accelerate the commercialization of remote driving technology," Kang said. "Through a roadmap leading from remote driving to autonomous driving, we will build an unmanned vehicle ecosystem and add the differentiated value unique to Kia PBVs."
