Starbucks Corporation(SBUX.US)

Starbucks Korea delivered coffee to about 5,000 people over one month through its "My Star Coffee" campaign, which links customer purchases to community donations.
The company said on the 26th that it visited nursing facilities, schools and workplaces of sanitation workers from Sept. 28 through October, delivering coffee along with messages of encouragement.
My Star Coffee is a customer-participation campaign in which Starbucks sets aside one cup of coffee for a neighbor in the community for every designated brewed coffee a customer buys on a Monday. The coffee is delivered using a mobile coffee trailer called "S:beokcha," with Starbucks employees visiting the sites in person.
The first visit was on Sept. 28 to the Jungye Municipal Nursing Home for the Elderly and its affiliated day care center in Nowon District, Seoul. After serving coffee to residents and care workers there, the company visited Sangseo High School in Daegu, Bundang Aram High School and Ansan International Business High School in October to cheer on students and faculty. At Sangseo High School and Ansan International Business High School, Starbucks employees also gave talks sharing their work experience with students hoping to become baristas.
On the 15th, the company visited a resource recycling center in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, delivering coffee and food to sanitation workers and center staff. In November, it plans to provide additional coffee based on stories of community neighbors recommended by Starbucks employees.
Starbucks also decided to extend its free size-up offer on brewed coffee through Dec. 28, after initially planning to end it on Nov. 2. Customers who buy a drink included in the campaign on Mondays automatically receive a discount based on the size they select.
"Thanks to the participation of our customers, this has become an occasion to look back on the hard work of the neighbors around us and share our gratitude, which is meaningful," Starbucks Korea CEO Shin Dong-woo said. "We will continue to carry out various activities so that a single cup of My Star Coffee can lead to a positive influence."
