LG通过Discovery Lab每年免费培训逾3.3万名青少年AI人才

LG (003550.KS) has established Korea's first hands-on artificial intelligence (AI) education institution, providing free education to tens of thousands of middle and high school students each year. Observers say the company's win-win management and corporate social responsibility (CSR) have expanded beyond funding support and technology transfer to partner companies, broadening their horizons to expanding educational opportunities for future generations and strengthening national technological competitiveness.
The LG Group said on the 28th that it is supporting young people through the "LG Discovery Lab" in Magok, Seoul, and Busan, helping them directly experience AI technology, develop problem-solving skills, and become proficient in using AI. The LG Discovery Lab first opened in Busan in October 2021 and also opened in Magok, Seoul, in November 2022, providing AI education to more than 33,000 young people annually. All courses are free.
The reason the LG Discovery Lab has drawn enough attention to be called a mecca of AI education for middle and high schools is that LG affiliates mobilize all of the AI technologies, data, and products they have accumulated in the field to nurture talent. LG Electronics' "CLOi GuideBot" participates in the robot intelligence course, while LG CNS's machine learning and deep learning platform is used in data intelligence classes. In the language intelligence and AI Human classes, "Exaone," an AI model developed by LG AI Research, is deployed, and doctorate holders from LG AI Research take part in the education.
LG's AI talent development continues through "LG Aimers," an AI education and hackathon program targeting young people, and the LG AI Graduate School, an in-house master's and doctoral program that became the first in Korea to receive Ministry of Education accreditation.
LG Chairman Kwang-mo Koo, who has led the way in producing AI leaders, stressed that "the technology and innovation that change the world begin with talent, and these people are the very source of national competitiveness."
