HD KSOE与Fraser签美国船厂现代化MOU但未披露金额

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) is launching a shipyard modernization initiative in the United States, offering its shipyard design and operational expertise as part of efforts to support the revival of the US shipbuilding industry.
The company said on July 30 that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with US-based Fraser Industries to cooperate on shipyard modernization projects aimed at revitalizing the American shipbuilding sector.
Under the agreement, the two companies will collaborate across the entire shipyard lifecycle, including shipyard assessments, yard and factory layout design, deployment of robotics and automation systems, optimization of cost, processes, quality and productivity, implementation of artificial intelligence (AI)- and data-driven digital solutions, expansion of supply chains and workforce development programs.
HD KSOE will support the development of smart shipyards by providing integrated shipyard design and construction technologies, production and operational systems, and data management frameworks.
The two companies plan to sign a shipyard modernization consulting contract within this year and develop Fraser Shipyard, located on the shores of Lake Superior in the US Great Lakes region, into a demonstration model for rebuilding the US shipbuilding industry.
Fraser Shipyard is also participating in the US Coast Guard icebreaker program through the Great Lakes Shipyard Alliance, which includes members such as Fincantieri Marine Group and Donjon Marine.
"We plan to support Fraser Shipyard in becoming a key hub for the revitalization of the US shipbuilding industry by providing expertise covering everything from shipyard design to operations," said Kim Hyung-kwan, chief executive officer of HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering.
