Kolon Industries拟向IMM PE出售功能材料和图像材料业务

Kolon Industries (120110.KS) said on the 13th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with IMM Private Equity (IMM PE), the preferred bidder, to sell its functional materials and image materials businesses.
Under the agreement, Kolon Industries will pursue the transfer of its overcoat (OC), organic light-emitting diode (OLED) encapsulation, and dry film resist (DFR) businesses, along with related stakes, within its Specialty Business Division. The company plans to grant IMM PE preferred negotiating rights and discuss basic terms before signing a definitive agreement.
OC enhances liquid crystal driving and panel reliability by flattening the surface of color filters within display panels. OLED encapsulation protects the light-emitting layer of OLED panels from oxygen and moisture. DFR is a photosensitive film used as a material to form electrical circuits on PCBs.
Kolon Industries has been carrying out business efficiency initiatives, including the merger of Kolon Glotech's automotive materials and components business and the merger of Kolon ENP. Kolon Industries explained that this transfer transaction is also part of its efforts to strengthen corporate competitiveness. The company plans to use the proceeds from the transfer for improving its financial structure and investing in new businesses.
"This business transfer agreement is in line with our long-term development plan to focus on the company's core competencies," a Kolon Industries official said. "Going forward, we will continue to cultivate our high-value-added core businesses while also not halting our efforts to discover new growth engines."
