As global demand for K-beauty continues to rise, key executives from Amazon's global logistics and supply chain division visited the smart factory of APR (278470), a leading K-beauty company.
APR said on the 19th that senior executives from Amazon's global logistics operations and supply chain strategy division (FBA, Fulfillment by Amazon) recently visited the "APR Factory Second Campus" located in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.
The visit was arranged to deepen understanding of K-beauty manufacturing and logistics systems amid the growing popularity of K-beauty in the global market. Amazon officials inspected logistics facilities including the SMT (Surface Mount Technology) process and assembly and inspection lines within the APR Factory Second Campus, and toured smart factory operations such as production equipment and logistics automation systems. They are said to have examined operational efficiency and global supply chain response methods, focusing on the manufacturing process of Medicube beauty devices, the smart factory-based automation system, and the integrated operating system that directly manages everything from production to logistics.
The APR Factory Second Campus was completed in May 2024. It handles production of Medicube's home beauty device AGE-R, with a maximum capacity of 6 million units. Based on the smart factory system, APR has established real-time production monitoring across all processes and a data-driven manufacturing management system. The company continues to pursue advancement work to stabilize the system and strengthen production efficiency, and is also expanding production line automation to increase output. Going forward, APR plans to extend the scope of automation to the assembly and inspection processes for some beauty device product lines.
