LIG Defense & Aerospace (LIG D&A) will provide a total of 2.3 billion won in research and development (R&D) funding to four suppliers that contributed to its export business.
LIG D&A said on Aug. 25 that it held an agreement ceremony for the R&D funding program for export performance sharing on Aug. 21 at 2 Pangyo House in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province.
LIG D&A selected Wave Electronics, i3system, EOST and VINE Telecom for the program. The companies were chosen based on a comprehensive assessment of their technology, quality, price competitiveness and contribution to export projects.
The funding will be provided under LIG D&A's newly established Export Business Performance-Sharing Program. The company will use the Win-Win Cooperation Fund administered by the Korea Foundation for Cooperation of Large & Small Business, Rural Affairs, with total support amounting to 2.3 billion won. This marks the first implementation of LIG D&A's export performance-sharing program.
LIG D&A also operates a payment linkage system that reflects changes in raw-material prices in supplier payments, as well as a Win-Win Cooperation Fund that provides suppliers with access to low-interest loans.
