Australian liquefied natural gas exporter Santos Ltd. said production in the three months through September hit a quarterly record, as it increased output from two major projects.
Total production rose 14% from the prior quarter, after the company in August loaded the first crude oil cargo from its Pikka field in Alaska and ramped up output from its Barossa gas project in Australia, Santos said in a regulatory filing. Sales revenue jumped 25% from a year earlier as realized LNG prices jumped almost 50%.
“I expect more to come in the fourth quarter as Barossa continues its journey to high reliability and Pikka gets a full quarter online,” Chief Executive Officer Kevin Gallagher said in the report. “We are a larger, more diversified, higher-margin business with a strong pipeline of backfill and growth options.”
Production at Pikka was temporarily limited on two occasions, and will be curtailed “for a short period” to allow water injection, Santos said. The company narrowed its full-year guidance to 99 to 102 million barrels of oil equivalent.
