检索:跨源查重:同一具体催化是否已在近 72 小时处理(search_processed_events)

Ride-hailing company Uber Technologies Inc. is shutting down its services in Nigeria effective September 2, following a review of its operations in the West African nation.
“We have made the tough decision to wind down our operations in Nigeria,” the company said in a statement.
Uber’s exit from Nigeria, where it has been operating since 2014, is part of a global restructuring move announced Wednesday which will see it lay off about 3,300 staff, or 10% of its global workforce. Abuja-based Daily Trust first reported the news.

Uber did not give a reason for its decision to exit Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation with more 200 million people, where double-digit inflation in the past decade has eroded purchasing power and pushed millions of people into poverty.
Estonia-based Bolt has been the main competitor to Uber’s services in Nigeria, while other ride firms have also emerged in the last few years, cutting into Uber’s once-dominant market share.
