零售认购偏弱只是售股供需信号,机构需求强且股价已在印度盘中反应,无法形成单向正期望。

Retail investors largely stayed on the sidelines in India’s share sale in Life Insurance Corp., signaling uneven demand a day after strong bids from institutions led the government to increase the offering’s size to $3.3 billion.
The two-day offer-for-sale, which closes Wednesday with bidding reserved for retail investors, had attracted bids for about 20% of the shares set aside for the category by afternoon, according to BSE Ltd. data.
As of 1:58 p.m. local time, bids had been placed for about 16.7 million shares, compared with 82.2 million shares reserved for retail investors.
The muted reaction from individual investors contrasts with robust institutional demand, which prompted the government to increase the size of the sale to 6.5% from the initially planned 2.5%. This makes the transaction India’s largest secondary share sale conducted through a stock exchange platform and the second-largest equity fundraise.
LIC shares rose as much as 1.6% in Mumbai trading after tumbling nearly 9% in the previous session.
Retail investors’ caution reflects LIC’s disappointing stock-market performance since its high-profile listing in 2022. While the insurer is profitable and continues to pay dividends, its shares trade at about 17% discount to their IPO price, adjusted for stock splits. They have trailed the Nifty 50 index, which rose about 55% over the same period.
