Jackdaw could produce about 10 billion cubic meters of gas over its lifetime, equivalent to roughly 2% of the UK’s projected gas imports between 2025 and 2050, according to the North Sea Transition Authority.
Chancellor John Healey also announced an Energy Wealth Fund on Wednesday, using revenues from North Sea oil and gas to invest in clean energy projects. It will start with £2 billion of funding.
