结论摘要
GIP总裁的100万亿美元基建论是长期行业展望,非新增订单或政策,无明确受益主体和业绩增量;对BlackRock本身也不构成相对其万亿级AUM的重大催化,故不做。

Infrastructure investment across the world presents a $100 trillion plus opportunity over the next 10-15 years, with more than half of the spend likely to go into energy and power related projects, Global Infrastructure Partners President and Chief Operating Officer Raj Rao said Wednesday.
The size of this opportunity works out to around $3 trillion-$4 trillion a year, he added, with the money expected to come from private capital players, governments and public funding markets.
GIP, which is a unit of BlackRock Inc. has over $200 billion of assets under management with a focus on energy, power and digital infrastructure. Its growth in recent years reflects a broader surge in investor demand for infrastructure as governments and companies pour capital into data centers, electricity grids and the energy transition.
“You need a lot of new build to come in and that is in trillions of dollars,” Rao said, speaking at the New Economy Forum in New Delhi. “To me, that is going to have to ultimately come in from private capital. But for private capital to flow in, its going to need the right regulation, the risk and technology.”
The infrastructure asset class, virtually nonexistent 20 years ago, has grown to about $1.5 trillion currently, according to Rao.
Rising infrastructure build out in digital over the last four or five years has dramatically increased the power requirement globally. The US is expected to see a 2-3% growth in power demand over the next five years while growing economies such as India and other emerging markets also need energy.
Some of the supply could come in from nuclear energy, which is crucial for decarbonization. But for investor interest in nuclear energy to rise, projects would need to be executed with quicker delivery timelines, Rao said.
GIP “is still investing in huge amounts in the US, and in markets in Europe and Asia,” where there is greater risk-reward, Rao said.
